Indeed. And Adele, wtf is she thinking? It will only show up how comparitively ORDINARY she is if she sings an Amy song.

The good side of it... if there's something that will show everyone what was so special about Amy, it will be those awful covers...
It was nice to have someone who really does have an amazing voice, but who isn't rapping the audience with it (Aguilera) or just being a bland pretentious fat cow (Adele)

I wonder which song Christina is going to RAPE?
The bigger question is how she keeps getting these gigs.

You just know Xtina hated Amy and was pissy over Back To Black blowing Back To Basics out of the water around the globe. Now she'll show up here and decimate one of Amy's songs. Shameless bitch.

Winehouse's third album was 'not complete'

Tragic Amy Winehouse's much-awaited third album is not complete, and won't be released in the near future, according to her producer Salaam Remi.

Following the star's death at the weekend, speculation has grown about the material she recorded for her highly-anticipated follow-up to 2006's Back to Black, which was slated to be released last year.

The singer's unheard work was said to be enough to fill three albums, but Remi, a long-time producer and pal of Winehouse, insists it was nowhere near completion at the time of her passing, and is adamant rumours of an impending release are false.

He tells New York radio station Power 105.1 FM, "We were working on it; it's not a complete album. We had a lot of things going, there are recordings, but first things first, I think. We're trying to focus on what's at hand and what her family wants to do. So those reports (of a release) are false.

"To put it all in a nutshell, Amy loved to sing, to write... that ability never left her. She was very good at channelling her emotions into lyrics, and then being able to sing them. She was in a place to go forward and make it happen... The way that Amy and I always created was she would write and we would toss ideas around.

"Amy had strong opinions on everything... She was very opinionated about what she liked. At the end, she was a real person. She had a huge heart."

Amy Winehouse duet royalties will go to her foundation, says Tony Bennett

Tony Bennett has said that royalties from his duet with the late Amy Winehouse will go to the foundation launched by her father Mitch.

The jazz legend recorded a song called 'Body And Soul' with Winehouse for his upcoming album Duets II.

Speaking on NBC's Today, he said: "What's going to happen is that we will put that [song] out ahead of the album. Her father started [a foundation] to teach young children not to take drugs. All the royalties from the record will go to that."

Bennett added: "That was the last record she made. It was great, she sang beautifully."

Winehouse was discovered dead in bed at her home in Camden, North London on Saturday, July 23. She was 27 years old.

The star's father Mitch later revealed that he hoped to launch a foundation in her name that would help individuals who are battling addiction and provide funds to causes that the singer supported.

Bennett had earlier told The Guardian that recording his collaboration with Winehouse had been one of his experiences of making Duets II, comparing her to the "great jazz singers" of the world.

Duets II, which also features collaborations with Lady GaGa and John Mayer, is released on September 19 in the UK and September 20 in the US.

Bennett turned 85 years old today and was surprised during his interview on Today when a cake bearing an image of his new album art was presented to him. He will mark the birthday with a celebration at the Metropolitan Opera on September 18.

Tony Bennett to lead Amy Winehouse MTV Video Music Awards tribute

Tony Bennett will lead a tribute remembering the late Amy Winehouse at this year's MTV Video Music Awards, it has been revealed.

It was first reported earlier this month that Winehouse would receive a posthumous memorial during the telecast, which will take place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on August 28.

Bennett will pay his respects to Winehouse by screening behind-the-scenes clips of the pair in the recording studio as they worked on their duet of 'Body and Soul'.

"It was a thrill to record with Amy Winehouse, and when you listen to the recording of 'Body and Soul', it is a testament to her artistic genius and her brilliance as one of the most honest musicians I have ever known," Bennett said in a statement.

Amy's father Mitch also expressed his gratitude for the segment, saying: "Our family is honoured that the VMAs are giving Amy this wonderful tribute. We know that Amy's performance of 'Rehab' at the MTV Movie Awards played an important part in Amy's worldwide success."

Winehouse was found dead in her Camden, North London home last month at the age of 27. While no cause of death was initially found, toxicology reports revealed that she had no illegal drugs in her body at the time of her passing.

Amy Winehouse had no illegal drugs in her body at time of death

Amy Winehouse had no illegal substances in her system when she died, although alcohol was present, a spokesperson for the late star has confirmed.

The 27-year-old singer was found dead in her Camden home last month. No cause of death was found during an initial post-mortem.

The Metropolitan police said at the time that further test results would be known within a month, while an inquest was adjourned until October 26.

"Toxicology results returned to the Winehouse family by authorities have confirmed that there were no illegal substances in Amy's system at the time of her death," a statement released this afternoon confirmed.

"Results indicate that alcohol was present but it cannot be determined as yet if it played a role in her death."

It continued: "The family would like to thank the police and coroner for their continuing thorough investigations and for keeping them informed throughout the process. They await the outcome of the inquest in October."

London drugs fixer Tony Azzopardi claimed that he had supplied Winehouse with £1,200 worth of crack cocaine and heroin on the day of her death.

Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black" becomes U.K.'s bestselling album of 21st century

LONDON - Amy Winehouse is still hitting music milestones after her untimely death last month.

Britain's Official Charts Company says Winehouse's Grammy-award winning "Back to Black" has become the bestselling album in the U.K. in the 21st century.

The company, which tracks music sales in the U.K., said Wednesday that "Back to Black" overtook James Blunt's 2005 debut album to claim the title this week.

Winehouse's second album had jumped to the No. 1 spot on the charts shortly after the soul singer was found dead in her London town house on July 23. An initial post-mortem failed to determine cause of death, and Winehouse's family said Tuesday that toxicology tests showed she had no illegal drugs in her system when she died.

An inquest into Winehouse's death begins in October.

Amy's final recording, a duet with her hero Tony Bennett titled "Body and Soul", will be released by Columbia Records this Wednesday 14th September. This special recording is released at 8am GMT on what would have been Amy's 28th birthday, in aid of the Amy Winehouse Foundation. The song was recorded in March of this year at Abbey Road Studios in London for Tony Bennett's upcoming Duets II album. An accompanying video of the two singing "Body and Soul" together in the studio will also be premiered via amywinehouse.com and Vevo.

The Foundation will be set up by her family to help a number of charities connected with children and young people.

Amy's father Mitch said, "We wanted to make a positive difference and help a range of causes close to Amy's heart. This could include help for children in trouble, suffering from health problems, children's hospices and more."

"While it is separate from my campaign to find more help for young addicts, that may be one of the areas that Foundation contributes to. We intend to raise funds and distribute them to individual projects who apply for help. I couldn't be happier that everyone involved with Amy and this recording felt they wanted to contribute."

And the loons have come out in full force.

Some motherfucker over on Pulse is going on about how people are "acting like they're aunt died" and saying that she's now being overrated as her musical impact pre-death was no bigger than Aaliyah's.

:manson:
They're right. She had no impact. She sampled, and put on a fake Motown black woman singing voice. Move on. Geez.
You really are an idiot.
Go troll a Christina Aguilera forum, and get banned again for the zillionth time, mung!

Her parents are simply the dumbest people around. They did an interview with Anderson Cooper, and since they found alcohol in her system, they didn't blame the alcohol, but the detox. Their entire reasoning was so ignorant, it was unbelievable. No wonder she was so fucked up. I know alcoholism isn't taken as seriously in the UK as other parts of the world, but come on, how do you think she was on a good path by just drinking a little bit during the last days of her life? They even made up an "alcohol induced seizure", as the cause of her death. Some people just shouldn't do interviews.

I *sort of* agree with you actually. There's almost this spin being put on her death as if she only died because she was being so healthy all of a sudden. I know that's not what they're saying, but it's almost coming across that way. She died because she destroyed her body with drugs and alcohol. She may have been off them when she died, but we all know why she died.
