We all should applaud Madonna for she is capable of making an Electronica and an Urban album back-to-back. Who else could do that seriously? Certainly not Mariah or Kylie. Even Bedtime Stories which is not highly revered among Madgelooniacs still pisses all over everything recorded by that whale.

I hope they pull out all the stops for "Touch My Body" and it blows up in her face by only peaking at #2. This song is so mediocre and it wouldn't be getting nearly as much attention if it weren't for Mariah coming off of "TEOM". |

Well, all I have to say is the Tiffany & Co. store in Manhattan (where Mariah lives) better take all their fine china off the floor. Because if "Touch My Body" pulls a "Loverboy" Mimisaurus will be smashin' all the plates in NYC. |

Madonna has credibly made many types of music. Key word is "credibly". I think that is amazing. She continues to take risks with her music even when she is being commercial. I think BS is a very underrated album by many M fans. It has some incredible songs on it. Then you have Mariah, who just waddles along making the same song remixed. |

in all truth, madonna has never taken any real risks when it comes to the direction of her music. she's always delivered pop music by adopting different genres and production tactics in order to keep up with the times. she had embraced electronica in the past decade because that's been the hot sound for her biggest markets excluding the united states. now that rnb is considered pop in europe too, it was only natural for her to attempt a u-turn in order to sustain relevance in her main field of competition and possibly re-establish herself to the american audience. |

I think she has taken enormous risk. Each new sound has the potential to blow up in her face. There is never a guarantee she would do the different genres any justice. We are spoiled that she is so competent and versatile at what she does.If she failed, it would have likely been spectacularly and no matter what market she was trying to influence, it would have been a huge backfire. The US is the biggest and most important markets. She has to remain viable there to be taken seriously. Look at Kylie for an example of someone who does well in other territories besides the US and that is why she is not taken seriously. Also, straying from a tried and true formula is very risky. I am sure we could all list bands who strayed from their formula then promptly lost their viability. Garth Brooks almost derailed his career simply for the Chris Gaines fiasco. Madonna never stays with the tried and true, not really even a little. |

This era is not going to be as successful as "TEOM" and I think Usher will overshadow her.
Good, her lambs need a reality check.

I've never, ever thought that I'd say this but seriously, let's pray for Flusher's success so that he can, if not completely, at least in many ways, OUTPERFORM Mariah chart-wise this year. |

Nobody thinks Mariah is going to sell 6 million this time out. In the same way nobody thinks Usher is going to sell 10 million this time either. Barely anyone even sells half of what The Emancipation sold let alone what Confessions did. |

That's not what he means. The singles won't be as big and the album will have a bigger % drop off in sales from TEOM than the drop in overall sales from 2005 to 2008. |

I know exactly what he means. And I don't think anybody was expecting that either. Who really ever outdoes their surprise monster album the second time around? |
