Easy now. That'd only make her a martyr and a LEGEND and mean that E=MC2 will sell about three times more than it should.

*imagines album give away for all attendees at her funeral*

even though she's had her fair share of shite singles in the past, i can't believe her company are releasinb bye bye next. not only it's one of the weakest tracks on the album, it's also cheesy and lame beyond belief.

I thought it was really weak at first, but I must say I love it now! Yes it's cheesy and insincere, but it's a good song.

I still think she should've gone with an uptemo track though. Also, "Bye Bye" might do well in the US, but it'll tank everywhere else.

I think that would be a good move. Either that, or "Lovin' You Long Time". Either one of those could be very, very succesful outside of the US.

The Observer review

Mariah Carey E=MC2
(Universal)

They say living well is the best revenge. Diva-in-chief Mariah Carey probably has platinum-plated lark's tongues for dinner, thanks to her last album, 2005's all-conquering Emancipation of Mimi . On its logical successor, Carey's ex-husband, Tommy Mottola (who masterminded her early career) comes in for his biggest earful yet on the righteous hip hop of 'Side Effects'. Even better is 'For The Record', a future-baroque R&B confection. But mostly, E=MC2 finds Carey on Mariahpilot as scads of producers get busy layering her hyperextensive voice in various idioms - Swedish pop, soppy hip hop and pro-tooled balladry. Big, then; but not particularly clever.

We Belong Together and It's Like That weren-t tacky IMHO.

They weren't very tacky, but they were hugely generic and utterly unremarkable.

The TMB video is shit, but in its defence, it's *meant* to be a joke. The other two weren't.

You have to go way back in her career to find a decent video. The best of them is probably "The Roof".
