“It's not a new album, it’s more like an afterthought, it’s the Paradise edition of Born To Die. It’s like seven new songs that kind of put a period on the statement that I was making when I was making the record…it’s beautiful,” Del Rey said of the album's reissue in July.

Born to Die: The Paradise Edition is due for a November 12 release.

Full Tracklist *new tracks in bold*

1. Born to Die 2. Off to the Races 3. Blue Jeans 4. Video Games 5. Diet Mountain Dew 6. National Anthem. 7. Dark Paradise 8. Radio 9. Carmen 10. Million Dollar Man. 12. This is What Makes Us Girls 13. Without You 14. Lolita 15. Lucky Ones 16. Ride 17. American 18. Cola 19. Body Electric 20. Blue Velvet 21. Gods and Monsters 22. Yayo 23. Bel Air 24. Burning Desire

"Ride" is my song of 2012 I reckon. I can't see anything topping this.

I adore Lana but Ride does nothing for me. To me it just doesn't go anywhere and bores me :(
Disappointed but I'm sure there's more gems to come like the Blue Velvet cover.

My humble advice to people having a problem with the new songs.

1. download song
2. transfer it to your mp3 player
3. listen to it properly with headphones on
4. repeat step 3

Proper music needs to be listened to properly, not dismissed in one half-hearted listen, like I think some are doing. Songs with gorgeous melodies, vocals, production and lyrics are never, ever boring. "Ride" is right up there with her very, very best songs.

Ride is like honey for the ears. But that won't cause brain damage.

I almost like the prologue better than the proper video. It's like a trailer to the best indie road movie ever. I find her to be a charisma black hole when performing though.

What's there to get? She's a great songwriter and her visuals are pretty but she's like a piece of wood onstage.

you really don't get her???

she's blatantly criticizing the American Dream. Emphasizing the beauty and the darkness to it in her own unique way.

Her vision is beautiful.

I'm American so I can totally relate to it having a heart and an open mind to the rest of the world.

We are given a taste of freedom. But then we learn about the rest of the world. We assess. Therein lies madness. Not many survive and progress.

It's rare for someone to feel comfy with their art or their words. And also be ok with their success from it whether good or bad. At least they created something that WILL be revisited because of its honesty and purity.

Take my word for it.

Er... I get all that and even though the 'tragic heroine on a doomed journey' has been done before she does it with style and grace, all I'm saying is that as a performer, simply standing behind a mic, she's pretty uncompelling. I don't dislike her, she doesn't annoy me, and in a world of Katy Perrys and Nicki Minaj's she's a breath of fresh air so I don't know what people are getting so defensive about.

Ok after a week listening to Ride I adore it now.
Most of her songs I love instantly but this one took a bit longer.

I agree with Gimme about her live performances. That iTunes show is kinda uncomfortable to watch as her vocals and stage presence are very meandering. But hey that's ok for me. I still think she's incredibly talented. I just couldn't sit through her concert :p

We have to bear in mind she is still only on her first proper album and is finding herself on stage.
If she's like this after album four then maybe that's not so great.but I don't have to see or gear her live to appreciate her gorgeous vocals, videos, production and song writing skills

That's exactly how I feel. Her live performances don't really matter to me. 99.99% of the time I'm going to be listening to her recorded music or watching her videos. So what if she's not exactly Freddy Mercury onstage? Her songwriting, vocals, production and videos are utterly sublime. That's more than enough for me!

my post was a tad passionate. I typed it after a night out filled with way too much booze. :lol2: didnt mean to seem defensive it was more for people who kinda just don't give art a chance anymore. lana's new and developing and she is def a breath of fresh air for sure. i just know that if things were different she'd be huge. she does need to work on stage presence though.
