Janet Jackson is launching her own line of furs. The singer has teamed up with fur firm Blackglama to create the luxury mink collection, which features 15 items ranging from coats to gloves. "The art of fashion is one of my great passions. I've worked for years to bring a collection into the world. Partnering with Blackglama is very exciting," says Jackson. The Janet Jackson Blackglama Collection is due to be released in high-end retailers in November. Jackson came under fire from animal-rights campaigners last year after she modelled mink items in an ad campaign for the brand. http://www.torontosun.com/2011/11/24/janet-jackson-launching-fur-line |

I'd like to see Mink wearing a range of clothing using Janet Jackson's skin. There must be loads of it in plastic surgeons' bins. |

Where did it all go wrong for her? Was it just Nipplegate or her obsession with slow jam sex fests? Her music never really developed did it? |

It seems an odd thing for someone like her to do.. But if you eat meat (as most people) do - I dont see how you can disagree with someone wearing fur. - Modern meat farming, especially cheap mass produced meat - can mean horrific conditions and lives for the animals involved. |

It's really quite simple. There's a big difference between someone killing animals to eat and someone killing animals to wear. I accept the concept of the food chain, but I don't accept slaughtering animals purely for human vanity. Perhaps you don't have a problem with that though. |

I wouldnt feel comfortable wearing fur myself - but I have no real problem with farming animals for fur - if the farming of it is ethical and humane. I think buying meat (which I do), and the whole modern farming industry causes much more suffering to animals on a wide scale - I would feel like a bit of a hypocrite castigating some one who wears fur. |

You still don't get the difference. Killing animals to eat is one thing. Killing animals for no other purpose than to drape them over your body, is another thing ENTIRELY. That's why I don't feel remotely hypocritical. And yes of course many modern farming methods are dreadful, but that's besides the point I'm making. |

As someone who loves and has had animals I have to strongly disagree with this. I would hate to see someone wearing my dog... even if his fur is LUSCIOUS. |

First of all, that's regulated. Second, you don't need fur to live, so it's ridiculous act to put an innocent animal through, especially for a pair of fur panties. Animals get probes up their asses, giving them mass heart attacks, and then are stripped of their fur, or they get boiled alive, then stripped, then made to limp around until they pass out and die. Animals are routinely killed humanely for meat. Yes, there are farms that have animals living in piss poor conditions, but they are still regulated, and can be handled. The fur industry isn't, and is often highly illegal, with felonious characters involved. |
