Oh come on, there's obviously a plan in place and you know something is coming in a couple of weeks at most. You should try being a Gaga fan when the most concrete hint is about a phoenix rising from the ashes and a series of hyphens.
What's left?..
It seems like the plan is to drop the single with no promo, cause she'll be in rehearsal mode for the tour. Very Madonna circa last year.

She lost all of her promo schedule, even pepsi. She flag herself, not the era, not the new image, or anything new and interesting for her fans. Again very Madge of her.
Perhaps these big acts really don't give a fuck about album promo anymore. The tour is EVERYTHING these days, as that's where the money is. It's sad.
We'll see in a month. Probably you're on point with that. Sad if true.

I doubt it. Beyonce is acutely aware her last era wasn't exactly gangbusters and she desperately wants to be on top again. The rollout will be huge.

her Belgrade concert is almost sold out, and the tickets aren't cheap and the economy here...
I guess that Super Bowl hype really payed off

I wish, but to remind you, THAT was the exact same thing with Madonna.

I wouldn't be posting this passive-agressive shit if i didn't know the producer of her album is Timbaland. Sorry.

was there ever indication madonna wanted to embark on a full scale comeback? she was making the rounds on tv shows promoting her flop film just a month prior to the album's release. and we all know she only did super bowl because of planning to start tour tickets sale the day following her performance.

beyonce knows she cannot maintain successful touring without bringing out the hits and progressing her iconic status. her main rival at this point is rihanna who's popping out hit after hit, surely both she and her team are quite aware they need to act aggressively. remember, her management are no guy oseary.

I don't see it (well, for now), and... tbh, we had 4, with the same management. Was not good mamagement AT ALL. It was veeery bad management, exactly Guy O's quality, or worse

How was 4 mishandled? The songs not connecting is different. I remember Run The World premiering with a splashy video and tons of buzz and performances and then Best Thing I Never Had coming in the heels when that wasn't a hit. And then of course she got pregnant but still did a shit ton of videos. I don't see how that is the same as Guy O's 'let's just throw it out there and see what happens' approach.

Sorry, can I just ask what cultural relevance does Beyonce have at the moment? Or ever? WHat has she done that's broken the mould or made the world go 'wow'? I'm curious.

Nothing, but she still gets tons of hype from clueless morns who don't realize she's just a Tina Turner clone that steals her hits and thinks women are subservient to men. She has 17 Grammys, Madonna has under 10.

I completely agree with both of you. She has brought absolutely *nothing* new to the world of pop music. She's very good at what she does, but she's a pale reflection of true icons.

I'm always amused by her black ghetto diva bullshit. She grew up in a large home in a mostly white, wealthy Texas suburb. Her parents were rich.

I think she's a great singer, she did a memorable performance at Glastonbury, some of her songs and videos have ben incredible, and I like the fact she is a role model to many young women.

But had she never become a star? I doubt the world would have lost out. She's more talented than Rihanna but when you break it down, they're cut from the same cloth.

Yeah, she's a vastly superior performer than Rihanna, but both their catalogues are devoid of any songs with genuine creative genius. Look at the range in Madonna's catalogue compared to theirs. The difference is massive.

Riri is not much of a singer or a dancer, but her music is much more memorable... Umbrella, Diamonds, We found Love... are classics!

She's massively talented, gorgeous, ambitious and classy. Her material is generally beneath her but to witness her performing is to witness a force of nature.

A force of nature? You mean Tina Turner in her heyday, right?

Did Tina ever really dance like Beyonce though? I can only picture her strutting around a stage. Bey is an astonishing dancer.

Each of those tracks more empty and throwaway than the last. Where are the epic songs that Madonna's catalogue is littered with? Where is the Like A Prayer? The Live To Tell? The Vogue? The Ray of Light? the Oh Father? The Express Yourself?

Beyonce and Rihanna have both released cracking singles, but they've never, EVER been musically creative, daring or adventurous.
