I don't umderstand the hysteria. People expected it to be released now, but nothing was announced so I don't see why it's her fault that people are dissapointed. I'm sure it will come out eventually and it will SLAY

Well, you know, if I've bought the tickets to her show, I'll be hysterical. Imagine, you think on going to the new era show, but instead all you get is the Greatest hits Cher tour?

Even if album came out right now, it's still too late to those who bought tickets, who won't have time to 'get' the new era, if it ever... A bit disrespectful to the fans, I guess.

But I have no chance to see her, so I'm just angry too see this behavior to the others, its all not fair if you selling a tour.

Er... she never promised or even implied that she would tour new material. In fact, she never toured with 4 so she IS touring with new material. Also, I like that you're enraged on behalf of others.

You really think that touring with '4' now is what fans want? And that is what they paid for? Dont you bother to answer - just no. She really is kinda disrespectful fuck, as someone said.

Er... I don't know what the fans imagined or what they want but they paid for a Beyonce show. No material was promised and there weren't even rumours of an upcoming release. Beyonce works her ass off for her fans onstage, she doesn't stumble around drunk like Rihanna and frankly I'm sure the vast majority of the people that bought tickets want the Beyonce/DC hits they know, not unknown material from a forthcoming album. She's a disrespectful fuck for not delivering something that was never promised? Are you psychotic (like the originator of the quote, Laurieanne Gibson?)

Oh, call her Cher Carter Dion then.

I think new music will come off, and there'll be the new era. Just all these delays and no even clue of what's going on, made me a bit uninterested in the thing. Secret Project is more inetersting than Bey's new era. Or just the same.

for ages now rock acts have been touring right before or at the time of a new album's release, and that never harmed their reputation. quite obviously beyonce is following a different path compared to conventional promotion tactics of a pop act. gimmesomeriver is right, she never promised the new album would be out soon enough for those attending her concerts to digest. if anything, i believe the tickets sale frenzy had more to do with people willing to witness a top class stage act rather than them expecting to sing along to her fresh tracks.

Well sales are not really my concern, I wouldn't have stuck by Madonna for so long if they were. 4 is by far Beyonce's best album and what made me a believer in her artistic abilities so I can only hope the new one slays as hard as that one did. For the gorls that want to jizz all over top ten singles, there's always Rihanna

Didn't know that...

But ppl mostly don't care about their new work, do they? There are certainly no singles with rock acts...

Are you implying people don't care about Beyonce' new work? Is she a legacy act or smth?

well, she is a superstar and people in general think of her as a fantastic performer. how else could one explain the fact tour dates sold out within minutes after tickets became available?

btw, 4 has sold more than 1.3m copies in america, about half a million in the uk and -rather appropriately- around 4 million worldwide without a mega hit single to promote it. i'd say that's a rather exceptional result in recent market terms. quality wise, 4 is her best album to date so i reckon that era turned to yet another success for her.

I always find it hilarious when multimillionaire celebs do ad campaigns for mid to low-range clothing companies they wouldn't be caught dead wearing anything from. The day Beyonce walks in to a normal mall and buys cheap ass clothes from H&M is the day pigs fly. (Madonna's H&M bullshit was just as bad.)

wikipedia's not a reliable source

1.3m usa sales (billboard source) + 0.5 uk sales (music week source)=1.8m

there's no way a huge international artist such as beyonce only sold 300k elsewhere, that's insane to even suggest

I don't want this to come off too harsh but I don't understand this attitude when it comes to Beyonce and Gaga's releases. They don't HAVE to release something to keep you entertained and they never promised anything only to take it back. They will release something when they're ready. Don't you have anything else to keep you occupied?

Of couse, but it was so obvious Bey is gonna release smth with all the biggest possible promotion in Feb and a tour to come, and the covers... I think frustration is justified.
Btw, pop acts should release new songs, create new eras, not only sing the oldies on tour.

And its not like every fan buys tickets to watch her incredible hair toss, some use radio and mp3 instead. Theres nothing new for them at all. I'm the one.
