It's the biggest event in the world right now and no-one here is talking about it.
Instead there are people STILL arguing about the bloody MDNA tour!

Aren't we interested? I'm loving it. Go team GB!

Jessica Ennis and Mo Farah are utterly amazing. Stunning athletes and super-nice people by all accounts. I was delighted for them.

Federer isn't remotely smug. He's extremely humble and sporting, not to mention handsome.

Unlike that dour, ugly git, Murray.

I have to say I've loved the whole event. The opening ceremony was great and its been compulsive viewing. It's refreshing to have people with real talent (and humility) plastered across the news media instead of the usual cavalcade of reality TV nobodies.

i was moaning for years about what a waste of money the whole thing but I was so wrong. Gutted I didn't buy tickets. But the women's marathon passed our offices today three times so I kept going down to cheer them on. Brilliant atmosphere.

And while I hate Andy Murray, its fantastic that we won another gold.

Exactly! I posted words to this effect on Facebook last night.

I really hope this is the start of redressing the talent balance.

tonight's races were a fantastic spectacle.

i really wanted christine ohuruogou to win women's 400m, she seems to be a really down to earth lady and of course she's a great athlete.

oh, and bolt  what an adorable crazy guy he is - a true megastar

The opening ceremony was just incredible. I can't wait for the closing ceremony, but will be sad too as that'll mean it's all over.

Yeah, I really wanted her to win too. I died a little inside when she said she was "heartbroken".

The Olympics have been phenomenal. And it's always great to be on the winning team.

It feels like it's going to have a significant cultural impact on the UK (aka pro-sport/anti-football) but of course it could all fade away as soon as the events finish...

I think it will disappear to a degree when the Olympics finishes, Pig, but I think it will also have inspired a lot of young people which will make up the next generation of Olympians.
