I also agree with We Found Love as video of the year. It's nothing incredibly groundbreaking but I thought it was well made and complimented the song incredibly well.

Shocked to see so many people think that We Found Love is deserving of Video of the Year. Where have our standards gone? It's a decent video, but hardly worthy of a major award.

Yeah that's all I meant. I don't think it was the best video of the year but it was my favourite of the nominations.

Ratings for the show were HALF the total for the previous year. :lmao:

With that line-up, I'm not surprised.

Just read the nominees. Saw clips of the videos.Heard Rihanna won? I can't get into her at all.

To me MIA Bad Girls was most deserving in terms of a strong storyline, visuals, song, and attitude.

Agreed, finally that Near East with their gold.
But the song? It's no good.

are you kidding? that song is bold. it's punk. it's attitude. it used to be what the vmas was all about!

i actually personally love the song over all the other nominees. it's the only song i actually listened to more than once in full.

On the 8th listen, you made me change my mind.

It's not my bathroom song, or the one to sing along (how I rate them), but yes, it is talanted, abd has some intrigue you can't explane.

Please don't refer to MIA as punk. She's about as punk as Pink. How ridiculous.

Why does the MTV VMAs still exist? They don't play music videos anymore. They don't even play music. It's a television series network. They might as well become the Emmy Awards.
Don't they have tens of side projects like pop mtv, rock mtv, urban one etc? Which play only music videos? And music news?
There's MTV2, and MTV Latin or something. No one watches that shit. It's like on channel 53400. It's non-existent, not to mention that it also plays MTV shows. It's Jersey Shore 24/7.

I want to like MIA more than I do. I like her soriscj and I like some of her music but it just doesn't move me. I know it's 'better' than say Starships or We Found Love but in honesty I'd rather (and do) listen to them.

MIA is a gigantic poser, her music is tuneless clanging for hipsters, she married a billionaire and pretends to be a rebel and has a giant chip on her shoulder about Gaga. She's GROSS.

MIA is ridiculously overrated. For starters, she can't sing and most of her "songs" don't even attempt a melody. Her "I'm soooo alternative" attitude makes me want to heave also.
