look, riv

we're talking about miserable indie pigeonholed middle aged men that most probably don't even use deodorant. i'm gonna enter their record store and ask for my well deserved kylie vinyl and i might just bring my discoball along with me just to make a statement.

when it comes to kylie, there's absolutely no shame

I would PAY to witness that scene.

Anyway, I bet most of them go home and sing "Tears On My Pillow" into their hairbrushes.

well, that was a rather...errr...unexpected approach on how to perform this song on stage. she does look fantastic, though

and yes, who am i kidding, this era has gone completely balls up - no visual concept, just her tiny figure thrown out in public looking lovely and hoping people will lap it up. i kinda feel sorry for her as she starts to seem quite uncomfortable with the way things are heading. not to mention kiss me once has dropped to #57 in its sixth week in the uk - not too sure this scenario of chart hell could have crossed her mind while in recording sessions for an entire year. such a shame really, cause the album really is quite a solid effort.

and this is how a flopping pop diva turns to her adoring gay crowd seeking for compensation. slayed :drama:

easily the worst video of the year, and she explains "the concept"

"This video is an abstract look at pedestrian life and how we're all just trying to get through and rise above everyday challenges. Although the song talks about a real life event that happened the day I recorded the song with Pharrell, the video has a more conceptual approach and I love how surreal it looks. I found myself almost directing traffic and it made me think about how we're all just trying to negotiate our way through day to day life."

I like the video (I think I'm the only person on earth though) but the explanation is a bit 'Fear of the Telephone Monster' isn't it? :lol2:

that performance on chatty man has been her absolute best in quite a while. too bad it did nothing for the single, which entered at #59 - obviously peaking, too.

her commercial decline is now too painful to witness. the music's alright, so i guess people are just not interested anymore. i wonder if there's even a possibility of a proper comeback in the future, even though she's still far too young to call it a day as a viable recording pop artist.

The acoustic album did quite well for her last year. I can see the inevitable naff orchestral covers album for Mother's Day looming...

Yep. I can see her slipping into Ronan Keating territory for sure. :(

It's either that or record an album of absolute dance bangers. That's what most of her fans would really love, myself included. No tepid R&B or Radio 2-friendly mum pop. Proper, full-on club bangers!

even though not an initial fan of skirt, i now feel that sound should have been the trademark of the album. word has it she served her label with a club friendly album, only parlophone rejected it and forced her back to the studio to record some kylie-esque tracks. also, it's been rumoured she insisted for mr president to be the lead single and yet it did not even made the standard edition tracklist. a full on dance album may be a risky route but at this point she really has nothing to loose. i'd rather have kylie fading to obscurity with some dignity than releasing MOR drivel during christmas or mother's day thus turning her pop legacy to a laughing stock.

Definitely. She needs to make exactly the kind of album she wants at this point. She needs to change label also. Parlophone aren't really interested I think.
