Monsters I am so disappointed to tell you I have to cancel some shows. The tour manager has lost our pump and we are therefore unable to inflate the Artrave set. This is very upsetting when I was ready to dazzle you all with my giant balloon. If anyone has a spate pump, please ldrop it off at the venue. Gaga xx
there've been rumours of her german tour promoting company going bankrupt for months now. cancelling four dates in such a big market must be quite a financial disaster.
Back from Budapest. The show was amazing! I've never seen her connect so much with the audience. She was really sweet and giving her all. But it was really painful to watch just how fucked her career is at this point and how obvious it was that her tour budget was cut. Everything looked so much cheaper than the Aphrodite tour... the stage, backdrops, only few dancers etc. ..and the worst part was that the arena was half empty. I went there with some real Kylie loons and there was no negotiating about going to the venue after 4pm and there were like 5 people there at the time. If this was Madonna's concert you would have this many people standing there the day before. And basically we could easily get to the same standing place if we went there at 7:30. I only had two Spanish guys in front of me and I had the perfect view. For everyone attending, the end of the catwalk is the place to be, she is there 70-80% of the time and you'll watch her back if you stand next to the main stage
At least you enjoyed the show, but yeah, Kylie really doesn't deserve this career slump she's experiencing. I know not everything she records is great, but her albums are always decent and she tries hard.
after the album bombing and producing no genuine hits, it's pretty weird she risked touring all over europe with an arena show. i think she should have just gone for uk, ireland and australia dates but i guess her team were hoping she would sell tickets based on her reputation as a live performer built in this past decade. obviously they were wrong, however i'm still impressed she can still put on a show in places like budapest and bratislava while in front of an audience of thousands.
while i loathe everything about les folies minus the mind blowing final act and i was all for a slick, modern, back to basics kind of show, i must admit the scaled down, almost budget production becomes quite apparent and she does look embarrassed by the outcome. on a brighter note, she's on top form as a live performer and probably one of a handful of pop acts with the ability to connect to an audience so effortlessly. by the way, riv, having looked at some pics of the gaga show at o2 dublin, it seems standing area is incredibly limited. how come the aphrodite stage fitted in there and not the artrave one. i would have thought the former was far more extensive, no?
Rainy morning with Impossible princess playing in the background This truly was her peak. Stylistically it was all over the place but it was just all put together so well. Jump, Breathe, Too Far, Some Kind of Bliss, Limbo.. back when Kylie's work was, I dare say it, as good and as exciting Madonna's best
impossible princess is an ideal record listening to on a rainy autumn day. it was definitely her artistic peak and the prime reason why she's just not another hybrid of the basic female pop starlet prototype. the album was slaughtered by critics just because of her name printed on its cover. i've always thought she halfheartedly returned to her pure pop roots right afterwards only to expose left field music on the basis of her rejuvenated broad appeal. no pop bitch with the exception of madonna would ever dare releasing slow as a lead single, or even 2 hearts for that matter.
i do remember both ray of light and impossible princess being released almost simultaneously. what a treat for a madge/kylie loon spring 1998 was.
I wonder if either of two will ever reach that level of maturity and artistic freedom to experiment ever again. It felt like a logical step forward for both, yet today they're both stuck in the same "just make some edm shit for gays" limbo.

And what's more, it's not even working for them. Especially for Kylie. I really don't see what they have to lose by continuing as they are.

Friend told me that her tickets for the X tour in Bulgaria and Romania were super cheap, like 30-40 euros. Yet she was still way more relevant back than. In Hungary she was charging more than twice as much, or more than I payed for Aphrodite in Paris. That's insane considiring how cheaper this whole tour is. She should have just booked Belgrade arena instead and charge less, most of the Budapest audience were Serbian ghays anyway

I'm starting to think that the sad truth might be that they're no longer capable of achieving anything more

wow at those ticket prices for the x tour balkan dates. i got to pay 100 euros for the same show held in athens. oh, and a kylie tour date in belgrade would have been ideal. i may actually imagine the greek ghays feeling ecstatic to travel on km railways for such a short route. it'd be relatively cheap, too. not to mention we really, really love serbia for reasons u're obviously aware of.

kylie's into an uphill battle from this point on. i'd like it if she turned to this niche pop artist who records music for her own liking, she's been instructed for way too long. madonna, on the other hand, she'll always be capable of another glorious comeback. i'd never ever right her off regardless of let downs in recent years.

I wasn't really considering Greeks there. There's always airplain or bus option if train is too slow for you. And as for Greek love/hate towards Serbians, maybe you'll be more pleased next time, if she books Tirana or something
oh u creep! i bet the venue will be packed with fiercely heterosexual individuals. make sure u scream opting for this underrated pwl gem when she goes ahead with the song request section. i believe she hates it, that clueless bitch.
