Well, the whole "looking like Joan Rivers on a good day" thing might put some people off

Cher is set to tour again! The Las Vegas Review Journal reports that after her contract at Caesar’s Palace expires, the 63-year old entertainer will hit the road. Cher says she is working on a new album, and the soundtrack to her upcoming film, “Burlesque.” Cher will premiere her new single, “Already Been There,” next month at the World Music Awards in Monte Carlo.

Currently, Cher stars in “Cher the Colosseum,” playing in Las Vegas at Caesar’s Palace. The show will run April 10th through 25th and May 8th through 30th.

Country producer Mark Bright has confirmed that he will be working on a new album with Cher in the near future.

Bright has worked with numerous country acts and is known as one of the masterminds behind all three of Carrie Underwood's studio albums.

When asked about working with Cher, he told Silk and Denim Music: "Cher knows that her listeners also listen to country music, so she felt it was a natural thing to develop a country music relationship."

The album would be the first solo effort from Cher since 2001's Living Proof.

The star recently appeared in the film Burlesque alongside Christina Aguilera. After winning a Golden Globe for the song 'You Haven't Seen The Last Of Me' from the film's soundtrack, the star hit out when it failed to gain an Oscar nod.

I honestly don't think a country album would be that bad. When you think about it "Just Like Jesse James" was pretty much a country song, and it was one of her biggest hits. I'll check it out and I'm not a country fan.

Anyways, Cher's been preparing standards, rock and dance albums over the year and we've gotten nothing, so I'll believe it when a song leaks from the sessions.

I picked up Moonstruck on Blu-Ray a few days ago. Even though I did think Glenn Close should've won the Oscar that year, you can't deny Cher's charisma in that film, and hell even as a gay man I'd admit she looked sexy after her makeover.

I can't believe that her last album was back in 2001.

^It failed to top 1 million worldwide, despite doing 500,000 in the US.

An absolute disaster, especially considering the performance of her previous album.

Wiki says it sold over 3 million.

The problem with "Living Proof" is that it was over produced. They took the "Believe" sound, and x it by a million. It was waaaay to plastic. They also never seemed to be able to get the singles together. It was all over the place. 9/11 definitely took its toll on the release too, believe it or not. She tried to cash in with "Song For The Lonely". The album hit the US in 2002. "Believe" was more controlled. "Living Proof" was a mess.

What made "Believe" so stellar, is that it wasn't expected. Cher was not looking to make some epic album. She didn't even want to do dance. With "Living Proof", everyone had expectations, and she didn't want to rock the boat. It wasn't organic. Too many cooks.

Anyway, does anyone know what her record label is now? I don't believe she's still on the contract she was under back in 2001.

I actually liked Living Proof better than Believe. Everything on Believe had that same Metro sound. Living Proof was more of a varied dance album.

A major issue with that album's "success" was the fact that even for the tour that promoted the album, she only did "Song For The Lonely" on the average set (even though she did play "A Different Kind Of Love Song" in a few cities), compared to how she did half the Believe album on that albums' tour. It was as if Cher didn't have any faith in the album.
