A great result for them. Didn't see that coming when "One Strike" wasn't getting any airplay.
It went Top 30 on airplay, thanks almost solely to Radio 2! It should've been a huge airplay hit though. It's sheer perfection.

They debuted at #3 in the UK album charts!

It actually sold less than Studio 1 which debuted at #40 in 2006. :chuckle:
still, studio 1 was released in november, which makes quite the difference regarding competition.

but, yeah, you do have a valid point. sales overall are truly abysmal these days. the music industry just needs to find a way for streaming not killing actual sales. this situation is beyond ridiculous.

oh, and the album's quite lovely, too. i'm gradually yet steadily warming up to it - great vocals and melodies revealed play after play!

What I mean is for the first few weeks of its release it got absolutely no airplay. Things were looking quite bleak then.

Love all the tracks but j'adore the second half especially the sequencing of the last four tracks. They're my jam right now :drama:

Played the album for the first time over the weekend. Really, really enjoyed it.

Apart from "One Strike", "Red Flag, "Fear" and "Pieces are my favourites.

Nope! It's really happening! They posted pics from the studio a couple of weeks ago, and a PJ insider said that the first single is coming within a few weeks. There was talk of it being for a new Greatest Hits album, but it's a brand new studio album!

When they released Red Flag last year, they said they were ready to record more songs straight away, so it all adds up!

Shaznay says: "This album feels exactly where we should be - and want to be - right now creatively. We worked extremely hard to make sure every sound on this album was exactly right, alongside my right-hand man KGee - and the girls made sure we kept this album heading in the direction that felt right for us as a band."

"I really enjoyed writing this album with some very talented producers including Karl "KGee" Gordon, Fred Ball, Hutch, and a brilliant young producer George Moore who's new to our team who brought a whole new flavour to the record. A highlight was reuniting with the king of beautiful interesting sounds, William Orbit, which was just amazing”.
