Kingdom Of Loathing has been fun for a good while now. And now, thanks to me finally deciding, I gave myself a custom title Posted Image For the record, that number in the title corresponds to my character's level, and will change depending on what the number is (2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.) |

More random (May as well consider this my own topic of random): You know you've read too much Order of the Stick when you narrowly avoid someone in the hall by jumping to the side - and then say, in a sing-song voice 'Jump, jump jump out of the way of random passerbys' |

This was a little something recorded the other day and posted on the OotS boards. I may re-do this though, mostly because: -I feel like while I had the voice down good, I didn't carry the right attitude. -Need to add gain to the second channel, since the sounds I start making at 1:43 are somewhat drowned by the chatter. Anyways, here's the file: Order of the Stick #657 - Second Chance |

Two, count 'em, two links of interest for the price of one. First off - a 3.5 Prestige Class found at the Wizards Community board - Ladies and gentlemen, lets give a warm welcome to the The Disciple of Metal Never before have I seen something quite that awesome - the guy even made a set of Epic rules to go with it. Plus, thanks to the openess of 3.5 content, (and his suggestions) any metal song can be made into a Cacophony/Euphony. (makes notes to Metalize some Nightwish songs) ------------------------- The other link is just plain an awesome youtube vid made by someone who, with this one video, reminded me just HOW freakishly creepy disney movies could be way back when (I still get shivers remembering the rat from Lady and the Tramp) Video The song's not bad either - I recommend turning off Annotations. |

Aaah, and another great thing to discover - the magic of little things called Chiptunes. With the right media player (or Winamp with the right plugins - namely, Chimpamp from OCRemix) one can use one of these marvelous and magnificent files. What is a chiptune? Well, it's a video game's song files ripped directly from the games themselves - so the only way you can get closer is by playing the game itself. They work in different ways depending on the system though. Gameboy chiptunes (.gbs files), for instance, play in one file that you control with winamp (and you see a nifty '#/#' thing next to the title) SNES chiptunes (.rsn files) simply add a whole bunch of song files to the playlist - complete with the song names NES chiptunes (.nsf files) appear as 'Game Name' but once you click it (with ChimpAmp installed) it opens a mini-player to control it much like a Gameboy one. Now, why are these so awesome? Well, let me elaborate for a brief moment: The game Final Fantasy VI has a soundtrack consisting of 80ish songs. Downloading all of these songs in MP3 format (believe me, I know) took up just over 200 megabytes. Now, I have a large hard drive, so that's no concern, but imagine my surprise when I discovered it's chip tune - 290 kbs. Same exact quality (if not better). Almost one one-hundredth the size. Gee, what's the better option here ladies and gentlemen? ;) Edit: I have now found Chiptunes for Playstation, Playstation 2, N64, GBA, Playstation, and Nintendo DS. I'm not going back to MP3s for game files for a looooooooong time. |

Quotation found from a courtroom: Lawyer: "Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse?" Witness: "No." Lawyer: "Did you check for blood pressure?" Witness: "No." Lawyer: "Did you check for breathing?" Witness: "No." Lawyer: "So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy?" Witness: "No." Lawyer: "How can you be so sure, Doctor?" Witness: "Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar." Lawyer: "But could the patient have still been alive nevertheless?" Witness: "Yes, it is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law somewhere." |

So, in the past few days, while I rarely recall my dreams, I have been able to recall quite vividly, two dreams. Sure, the second one, I only recall vague details, but eh, I do what I can, and I feel like sharing. First Dream: Raine and I This was the much more vivid dream I recall, as it shifted between two different storylines/perspectives (Call them what you will). The first storyline would be taking place in the present, with a certain someone (I'm sure you can take a guess who) alongside me, taking in the sights - oh, and actually tangible. Was rather nice - she may not have looked as she normally does, but I just knew it was her. The second storyline took place several years back - with me taking her place in several scenarios. Part of me thinks that they were some of her memories, while another part just thinks they may have been fabricated - or a little of both, you never know really (Though a scene with her father trying to stab me seems miiiiighty suspicious of a scene from Le Portrait de Petit Cossette) ---------------------------------- Second Dream: The Collar This was a bit more vague and nondescript, but I recall one part specifically, namely, going and buying a strange collar. The collar actually had a seam along the band of it, allowing it to separate into two halves - but only when worn. In other words, it was a collar that allowed you to remove your head, and not feel ill effects such as, oh, bloodloss, being unable to breathe - etc. So yeah, short, but weird. Oh, and the people at the store gave me a brand new DS for buying that collar. Go figure =/ |
