Is it strange that I'm only half-dreading them?
The other half is looking forward to experimenting =p

So, time for a few updates for you guys on a few things.

First off, some headline news:
CRITIC'S VAULT: MEMBER ON STRIKE?
So, Welnis has been working REALLY hard at trying to make sure the Critic's Vault isn't going to flop on the launch as just a simple site where some teens are just putting some opinions out on varying games and movies and whatnot. And I mean REALLY hard - I'm talking trying to get in touch with various gaming companies, informing them of what we're doing, and even trying to get to a status that warrants pre-releases for review purposes. He's already spoken with Atlus, a gaming company behind a variety of games and series - most notably the Shin Megami Tensei/Persona series, as well as the Super Robot Wars games (They also are behind a good number of niche games, such as Odin Sphere, a PS2 game I find rather enjoyable).

Not only that, but he made a new site layout design made to get us in less trouble with copyright people. Gotta cover your bases ya know?

However, Ether saw the design, and, since it's been mostly me and Welnis talking about the site, hosting, etc. etc., him having been out of the loop, complained to Welnis, wondering 'Hey, what happened to the movie section? Isn't this Serenade's site?' or something like that. Me, I was curious, yes, so I asked Welnis about the lack of a 'Movie' and 'Book' section.

Welnis was not pleased - from the 'onslaught' he actually temporarily quit (this only lasted until I texted him saying I'd respect his decision, blah blah blah.) Turns out, he was mostly just angry that Ether had complained that quickly.

Nothing is set in stone, but a team meeting over Skype has been arranged to take place sometime on either Thursday or Friday (We need to settle on what day).

So, overall, the site is on Hiatus - but I will show you the design that Welnis came up with:

Item number two, the not quite headline news:

METAL HEADS: STAY OUTTA ANIME NORTH:

So, I finally heard back from the Anime North Weapon Master, and the E-mail brought a bit of bad news, as well as some vagueness to it. All the e-mail said was that 'no metal weapons are allowed, unless they are for the masquerade or skits - and even then, you need permission from con staff, and they need to be in the 'Green Room' when not in use'

Yeah, thanks a whole lot - you know, I DID ask about weapons with SOME metal, but that was obviously paid no mind. Regardless, I decided to just drop it - the Kingdom Key and the Suigintou Sword will likely begin construction sometime in the new year, date unknown.

Pictures will not be posted of said costume until all parts are obtained. The Weapons, though, are another business, and I will be posting progress shots (If I can get them).

Headline 3:
THE EVIL WAL-MART:

So, I finally have much of my Christmas shopping finally done as well. I managed to pick up my dad's gift, as well as Ether's - and then a bit of swag for myself. Namely, a new headset, a copy of V For Vendetta, and the Tremors Attack Pack.

Thusfar, my Gifts (posted in plain site, since no one knows of this board =p):
-Younger sister (13): ... Figurine of Edward from Twilight (She loves the damn thing somehow - thankfully, the clerk gave me a box to hide the figure in while I carried it around the store. the box was then burned, due to the shame it had felt)
-Slightly older sister (18): iTunes gift card. She's the only one that uses that program, so I'm sure she'll get some good use out of it.
-Mother: A copy of Night At The Museum 2. I don't know what it is about the guy, but my mother really seems to like Ben Stiller. She loves him in Zoolander, Starsky and Hutch, Night at the Museum 1 - et cetera. So, why not get her a Ben Stiller film with, surprise surprise, Owen Wilson - another of her favourite actors.
-Father: A brand new, hardly even out of the box that contained them, copy of Inglorious Basterds (Yes, that IS how its spelled.) Much like my mom's love for Ben Stiller, my dad has an almost morbid love for Quentin Tarantino films. I would have got him the Tarantino Box Set (Which has Kill Bill 1 and 2, Pulp fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Death Proof, Jamie Brown and a mini collectible samurai sword) but I decided that can wait for his birthday, or Father's day (I can't recall which comes first, since I can't remember when Father's day is)
Ether: A copy of Dissidia: Final Fantasy. He's getting a PSP this weekend as an early present from Welnis. So why not give him an awesome game for it to add onto the already large list of games he's getting? =p

The only one I haven't got a gift for yet is Welnis, and I'm likely to pick his up after Christmas. He mentioned he wants a La Senza gift card - which I found weird. I'm supposed to be the weird Transgendered person in our little circle of friends =p.

Oh right, why did I call wal-mart evil? Because I had to wait for ages for that damn Inglorious Basterds movie to be available. That is all. <.<

Last headline:

The first two link to the same video, SD.

Sadly, though, this IS our business world today.

So... Yay, I just found out one of the guys I work with is a complete ass at times.

He's alright in terms of asking kindly for help when he's not certain what to do, but that's about it.

Without asking, on multiple occasions, he's actually taken some of my freakin' jelly beans that I paid for that are sitting on my desk. Now, I realize that one of the higher-ups on the floor said that 'open candy on a desk is fair game'

No. No. No. That is MY FREAKIN' CANDY. You want candy? BUY IT YOURSELF.

That's not all though... Because Saturday and Sunday are, surprisingly, our slowest days of the week, I, in a fit of childishness/nostalgia, grabbed one of the new Bionicle figurines yesterday and today.

Heck, both the figurines are on my desk right now, in some horrible four-armed crazy centaur-esque amalgamation.

However, this guy... he looks over at my creation, acting like he's 'oh-so-much-better' than me since he's not fiddling with them between calls, keeping the mind active.

He then says 'When you're a kid, you play with toys - when you're an adult, you stop with the childishness.'

... Is this guy for real? He's looking down his nose at me because I decided to buy Lego. To keep me from being bored out of my skull between calls.

Yes, I know it's a bit childish to play with lego, but really, you're never too old for anything that lets the mind be creative - whether it be art, writing, even making figurines.

...

Is that really so bad? Heck, I have a WoW figurine sitting on the tower of my computer here, what's so bad about Bionicle?

[No, no it's not so bad.]
[That ass needs to pull his head out from between his cheeks, and stop regurgitating the male ego and ideals shoved down his throat since childbirth.]

['Growing Up' in the terms of general society means to stop enjoying the simple pleasures of childhood, and become a responcible boring adult.]

[You'll never hear me say this again I expect, but I seariosly have only one thing to say to such complete asshattery: Fuck That.]

[Now if you will excuse me, I have transformers to go play with. And I do mean play, as in mock battles and storylines. I had enough of being a mindless drone of society back when I was on ritalin, I refuse to ever do that again for anyone.]

He's just one of THOSE people, SD.
They're at every job. The people you will never truly get along with. The ones who don't care who they squash, lie to, hurt.

Me, I believe this:
Growing OLD is mandatory.
Growing UP is optional.

Ain't never gonna really grow up

And I second everything that Jay said.
ESPECIALLY the bits about getting my toys

I'd suggest printing out the last Mac Hall comic, and posting it up in your cubicle or whatever you have, where he can see it. He'll completely miss the humor of it, but that's part of the fun.

Now, if you could orchestrate an office wide Nerf gun battle....

Now, I need to rearrange the GI Joes on the shelf above my monitor to make room for this Outpost Defender set, and to make it look like a battle. Dunno where I'm gonna put the little motorcycles I have up there....

Thanks you guys
Also, I saved that Mac Hall comic - gonna print it out when I get home.

Pay Day is Friday. Likely to pick up the rest of this Bionicle series - they all have a good number of unique parts among them that could lead to some interesting creations.

Ok, being the home IT person is now actually starting to get a taaaaad annoying.

Helping my sister get her computer set up? Alright, I can cope. Helping her get her CD drive working? No problem, I was there anyways.

Fixing her internet after dad broke it? Ok, fine...

Then the other day, my dad brings one of his friends home, who had brought a tower, and asked me to fix what was wrong - apparently, he got hit by this fancy schmancy new virus thing called 'Security Tool' (I fixed it by getting rid of the program in safe mode)

And then now I'm getting calls from my dad, asking me to help one of his other friends in getting his router secured.

Oooiiii...
