Andrew drew a long ragged breath, as his diaphragm started working again. The usual lung congestion was till there, but at least he could move air, again. He weakly pushed himself up from the ground, and tried to get his cane under him to stand up. That was when he realized he wasn't in the assisted living home, anymore. Looking up through the forest canopy, something wasn't right with the sky, but other confusion kept him from realizing what it was.

A sound to his right drew his attention.

Grayson sat up with a start, the sound escaping his lips a pale echo of the one he loosed, when he realized he wasn't going to miss that tree. Leaping to his feet without thinking about it, he looked around for the tree and his bike. That was when he saw the sickly looking kid with the cane, trying to stand up. Grayson moved to help him.

There was a few things that ran though the head of the young man, currently staring up at the sky through the leaves of the trees around him. Number three of the list of these things was 'where did these trees come from, I was in the city.'

The other two were relating to the girl he was certain he could have potentially slept with - after he took care of business by expelling some of the liquid courage he had imbibed that night. It didn't really matter which end at that point - the woman had had twice as much to drink as him.

It was then that the fourth question ran through his head: 'Why do I feel clear and level headed.' One would assume after several Jägerbombs, combined with a few rum and cokes, one would feel at least a tad tipsy. Or as he somewhat recalled, 'smashed'
would have been the proper term for the state he had been in. And yet, here he laid, staring at the leaves.

Anthony sat up slowly, rubbing his forehead. He also remembered his sides hurting briefly, though for whatever reason, he couldn't remember why. The alcohol probably contributed to this though.

He glanced up once more, before getting to his feet, brushing some of the leaves off his legs, surveying his surroundings with his good eye. He took a few cautious steps forward, and then, certain no one was going to blowdart him, he continued, listening for sounds of life and potentially, civilization.
"Would you like something to drink?" She opened the fridge. "We have water, milk, juice, spiders, Dr. Pepper-"
"Spiders?"
"Spiders it is then."
"No, that wasn't-"
But she was already pouring him a brimming glass of spiders.

Consciousness came with a groan. The red-haired woman knew she should be dead after that fall.
She also knew she shouldn't be laying in bushes.

Her neck hurt from the last shock the collar'd given her.
She sat up, looking around.
"Just where the slag am I?" she asked aloud as she tried to get her bearings. "Net's down. So's SatMap. Where the slag am I?"

Someone's voice reached Anthony's ears. A woman's voice judging from the pitch. He looked around the forested area, pondering both how he'd heard it, given the surroundings, but at the same time, wanted to know where it had come from.

"...Hello? Someone there?" He asked aloud, looking this way and that, listening for a source. What kind of curse word is 'slag'? he asked himself, certain that that was one thing he'd picked up.
"Would you like something to drink?" She opened the fridge. "We have water, milk, juice, spiders, Dr. Pepper-"
"Spiders?"
"Spiders it is then."
"No, that wasn't-"

Grayson heard the others, as he was helping Andrew to his feet. He saw them, when he turned around. "Where did you guys come from from?"

He looked around a bit more. "And, where did the trail go?"

There was a sound very similar to a gun cocking.
"No place in the Sprawl has air this clean," a woman's voice was heard. "WHo are all of you, and where the slag are we?"

the figure that stepped out from behind the brush was clearly female, well-tanned, with short red hair.
The green eyes that locked on to each of them in turn seemed to almost glow.
She was clad in what looked like some form of form-fitting body armor. In her right hand was a loaded pistol-style crossbow

"S'what I'd like to know." Andrew wheezed, before taking another long rattling breath. That was about as long as a breath as he could muster.

Grayson looked positively puzzled. "You guys weren't on the trails, too?" He eyed the woman's crossbow.

"Is there some kind of ren fair going on?"

Anthony stepped from the trees at that point, spotting the woman with the crossbow, and the other individuals. His eye tingled a bit, and he unconsciously rubbed a bit at it, listening to their conversation. Not wishing to cause alarm, he kept rubbing at his eye, making it a conscious effort to keep it at least somewhat obstructed.

He eyed the woman with the crossbow, raising an eyebrow. "Miss? Is there a reason you still have that leveled at anyone?" Well, not the best way to start a conversation, but it sure beat what else was on his mind, given the woman's form-fitting armour.
"Would you like something to drink?" She opened the fridge. "We have water, milk, juice, spiders, Dr. Pepper-"

The woman exhaled heavily. "We need to get you a doc. But we've got a problem. Net's down, and SatMap's offline, too. I got no idea where we are."

She looked at Anthony a little sharply. "Chummer, I'm a Runner. I live by not trusting."

"A... Runner?" Anthony thought for a few moments, thinking of som of the conversations he'd had with his friends. "...Like Shadowrun?" he asked. Heck, it was the only other instance he' heard the term 'Runner' before, apart from track team members. Athletic as this woman was, she didn't look like she was dressed as she was to do hundred meter sprints.

Anthony was quiet for a few moments. "...Wait, you lost me at 'wetwork.'" He paused for another moment. "And the implication that Shadowrun isn't just a game my friends would play. And the crossbow still."

"Life's not cheap in the Sprawl, chummer. But it can be bought for a price."
She paused, finally lowering the weapon.
"Figure you guys may be just as lost as I am, all things considered."

Anthony nodded, holding a hand forward and taking a few steps toward the woman. "Anthony Yonge," he said calmly, still eyeing the crossbow.

Andrew shook his head. "Doc's already...."

another wheezing breath

"Done all dey can."

"Wetworks is assassination." Greyson clarified.

"But, Shadowrun is just a game. It's all just science fiction, and fantasy. If you and your friends were out here LARPing, you can drop the act. We're not part of the game."

Andrew was trying, unsuccessfully, to get reception on his smart phone.

The woman looked at Andrew with concern in her eyes. "This is no place for someone in your condition."

She then almost glared at Grayson.
She raised her left fist, and three slim metallic blades slid out from between her fingers.
"Handle's Tranja, or Shadowfox, and, trust me, chummer, this is NO game."

"Was at de home.... *breath* ....a minute ago." Andrew informed her

Grayson remained unimpressed. "Look, the costume and the props are really cool. Especially those contacts. But, unless you're some kind of time traveler, which I seriously doubt, Half the stuff you're talking about doesn't even exist."

"She's right.... *breath* ....'bout de net." Andrew wheezed "no cell, eit'er."

Grayson pulled out his own phone. It was a simple flip phone, he'd never liked all the extra features. He'd made sure his account couldn't even receive text messages. It looked a little battered. "Hey, Anthony did you say it was? Check your phone. See if you've got any reception."

Something had just moved out of the trees towards the group. Something low. Something with antlers.

Anthony fiddled in his own pocket, feeling for his cellphone. After a moment, he pulled it out... only to find that it had seemingly been smashed. The screen was broken, and the back had practically snapped in two. The battery also had a dent in it, and after several attempts, it seemed the phone would not power on.

"...Well, I can't help on the reception front," he muttered. How the hell did this happen to my phone.
"Would you like something to drink?" She opened the fridge. "We have water, milk, juice, spiders, Dr. Pepper-"

Anthony stared for several long moments. "I... I have no idea. It was fine that last time I put it in my pocket," he grumbled. "Ninety bucks I shelled out for this thing... ninety bucks wasted," he added, pocketing the useless device, rubbing at his eye again.
"Would you like something to drink?" She opened the fridge. "We have water, milk, juice, spiders, Dr. Pepper-"

Anthony shrugged, glancing out toward the trees, tilting his head in confusion. "Uh... guys?" Something weird this way comes," he said, pointing, and taking a few steps back.

"This whole thing isn't feeling right, big guy," was Talia's reply to Grayson.
She turned to where Anthony was pointing, crossbow raised again.
