So I picked up Windblade, the Fan made 30th anniversary transformer. She's one of those you're tempted to get two: One to leave in bot form and one to leave in jet form, because while her transformation is relatively simple it is finicky getting everything pegged in correctly.

That said, she is a beautiful sculpt:

That she is, and her sword is AWESOME! 1) it has a sheath and 2) It's my shade of purple. :D

Haven't wiggled her fan out of her hair yet, don't really think I want to risk loosing it.

I picked one of these up. Her robot mode looks great, but beyond that, I'm not impressed. There's nothing to keep the front of her torso in place, and the hinge has very little friction. Her high heels won't stay in place. She has four different places to peg her scabbard into her robot mode, and it doesn't like to stay in any of them. I'm having a hard time ignoring the feet on the back of her vehicle mode, and the wing root area just behind the cockpit either won't go together right or won't stay together. I've honestly had better luck with Energon Slugslinger's vehicle mode.

I really want to like her, but she has so many little issues.

Wasn't too crazy about the look of the feet in her alt mode either, but there's enough there for me to like.

My first thought looking at her is that this is what Starscream's mother would look like.

And she would be -terribly- dissappointed in Starscream.

-snickers at jay's comment-

If I could find another one I was tempted to paint her up as Slipstream, the female Screamer from Animated.

Any who, as i don't feel like starting another thread, picked up another transformer Saturday: Snarl.

Simple transformation, GREAT sculpts which hold together in both modes, and beautiful translucent plastic.

The new one that's out. Same series as Windblade. She looks like G1 Arcee.

Huh. I knew Chromia had gotten a new sculpt, but i wasn't aware Arcee was getting a new one. I'll have to keep an eye out for her.

She's in the same wave with Chromia. There's a good chance you'll find both, at the same time.

Arcee is.... very pink. She's clearly based on the 80s animated movie version, especially her color scheme.

She feels all around much more solid than Windblade. Heel spurs and working ankles make her a lot more stable, too. My only real complaint would be the lack of wrist swivels. But, her forearms are really thin, so I can see where those would have been a problem.

She's a shell-former, wearing most of her vehicle mode on her back. Her transformation borders on "stuff goes everywhere." Almost everything locks in place. Almost. I don't think the designers knew what to do with her arms, in vehicle mode. They just sort of tuck underneath, however can get them to go. Her ridiculously thin forearms help them stay out of the way, but in the end, her arms just held in place by the friction of their own joints.

Did I mention that she's armed to the teeth? She's got two clear blue blade weapons, a large pistol, and a small pistol.

Now, I need to dust off Hot Rod, now that he has someone to properly verbally abuse him.

I also got Cosmos and Swerve. Swerve is probably my favorite of the three. There's nothing about him that really makes him stand out, it's just his overall build and goofy grin give him a lot of personality.

EDIT: I figured out Arcee's arm storage. There's a spot to store her small pistol. Her hands can then grab the small stubs on either side of the gun. Her big pistol stores under the back of the car, at an angle.

Had to go back to the store today. Grabbed the last Chromia they had. She looks like the unholy offspring of Prime Arcee and that motorcycle guy from the Technobots. Shoulder movement is a little restricted, and she has no ankles, but otherwise, she's pretty boss. The figure can even do a decent rendition of the pose she's drawn in on the cover of her included comic book, (that she's not in, at all) But, she has to borrow one of Arcee's guns to do it.

Aw, I just realized my Arcee's windshield is miscast. It's missing one side, from right about where it angles back. If it was on the passenger side, I'd probably let it go. Being that it's on the driver's side, I'mma try to make a new windshield. I think the .040" Lexan I've got should be perfect.

Is anyone still reading this thread? I'm in ur thread, bumpin' ur posts! :ph43r:

Because, they don't have that problem. Mine's just something that made it past QC.

You'd have loved the previous Cosmos they made, in the old smaller Legends class. I need to get a picture of the two of them together.

Got my Arcee and realize the latest is my fourth one. No miscasting on my windshield, though I wish i had the skills to make molds of her back kibble and to make die cast replacement parts.

I don't even want to think of how back heavy that would make her. That's almost her entire vehicle mode.

I am really starting to like the current style Legends figures. I recently got Bombshell, and Powerglide, and I'm pretty happy with them. There is a slight issue of Powerglide's arms not really pegging into place in vehicle mode, but they still stay put. His vehicle mode still has far less robot kibble under it than most any other TF airplane. Bombshell manages to be taller than "Skrapnel" (Shrapnel) in robot mode, but more compact in insect mode. Funky.

I just got Windcharger. I never found Tailgate, so I'm really happy to have this guy. He's cast in a beautiful metallic red plastic. His chest is completely painted in dark gray, and the paint is flawless. I do find it a bit amusing that his vehicle mode is clearly based on a late 70s Trans Am, when his G1 form was an early 80s version of the same. His shoulders are nearly as wide as he is tall. Not sure how I feel about that.

Speaking of Windcharger's Vehicle mode; It's a little stylized, and angular, with some extra panel lines molded. I can't help but think that if they ever did a sequel to the anime Redline, This is the perfect update/replacement for Sweet JP's Trans Am. (especially, since this is recognizably a Trans Am, instead of the bastard offspring of a Camaro and a Dodge Omni that Sweet JP 's car looked like.)
