Alrighty ladies and gents...as many know this is the APP section of the forum...here you post request for your characters to have weird and off the wall tech, gadgets, and abilities. Apps come in many shapes, forms, and sizes but what we will normally be looking for is an App that explains what the Ability, weapon, or gadget does, what its weakness are, and how long it will take to use it. Here is some examples I have made for a character of mine known as Glipper. I will leave these two here for my fellow staff to tear brutally apart for the idiocy they are or approve as accepted gear and abilities my character can use as a example for future use....ENJOY!!!! FOR NOTE: Normally you make one post per app...doing as I have done and posting three apps on one post may not go over as well. This is mainly as use as a example but still...have to show ya'll what is wrong as well as what is write. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ GLIPPERS MASK: Glipper wears a mask for a variety of reasons, mainly to hide his face as he is rather self conscious of his scars but it does have other functions. Glippers mask has a few separate functions to it, the primary one is that with a flip of a small switch on the mask he goes from normal vision to, ultra violet, thermal, and blacklight(what I mean is that things that would shine under a blacklight would do so with this setting) The mask also has a audio muffler that will dampen loud noises. But if the noise is sudden it wont dampen all the noise. The mask also acts as a gas mask when the need arises. And finally it holds a intercom that connects to his ships AI basically letting the Ships Ai see what Glipper see and send info to Glipper. This ability however is limited to what the AI knows, which currently is basic medical aid to organic beings and limited tactical data it can offer from orbital scans given by Glipper's ship. ((Glipper's ship is only able to give basic scans through Glipper's mask. These scans include a aerial view of the immediate area, however it is next to useless giving data on indoors, only able to recognize heat signatures inside the top floor of a building and unable to verify what the signatures are, tech, or equipment that anything inside the building could have)) ____________________________________________________________ GLIPPER'S REGENERATION ABILITY: Long ago Glipper was kidnapped by Apex scientist and experimented on, the main thing they did was splice the DNA of a shark like creature into Glippers DNA as well as a means to recover from harm. The first change is he has gained a regeneration ability. This ability is powerful but not godlike, you rip off Glippers head he will be dead, but rip off a limb or an eye and it will slowly grow back. However the limb/eye wont be back to full strength until immediately. For example, lets say someone tears Glipper's eyes out, Glipper would be blind until they regenerated but when they do he wouldn't be able to see farther then 2 feet in front of him at first(second turn after losing eyes), then 4 feet(3rd turn), then 6 feet(5th turn), then 10 feet(8th turn), then they would be fully regenerated(9th turn). Same with his arms and legs((each 3 turns adding a new layer starting from bones, the muscles, veins, and skin for a total of 12 turns to regrow a lost limb)). The process also taxes Glipper both physically and mentally normally meaning without a stimulant of some kind he is only able to regrow 2-3 limbs a day and after words is lucky if he can move, it also absorbs tons of nutrients from other parts of his body so he needs to eat almost immediately after regenerating a limb, sadly this does sometimes (approx. 50% of the time) lead to his body forcing him into a Feeding Frenzy(details on Feeding Frenzy is stated below). It normally will take Glipper 4-6 turns to recover from a single bullet wound. Strength: Glipper can heal from most wounds on his own however the auto-doc does speed things along Flaws: Is a slow process the larger the wound the slower it goes, also taxes Glipper heavily for using it requiring rest and food, also can lead to him going into a Feeding Frenzy __________________________________________________________ GLIPPER'S FEEDING FRENZY: The Mutagen that was pumped into Glipper has reactivated more of the shark-like genes in Glipper's genetic code. Making it so that in the presence of blood, unless Glipper is expecting it so he can try and fight it down, he will enter a Feeding frenzy, dropping his guns and ripping off his mask he will charge and try to devour anything, ally or foe, that stands before him. The longer he is in this mode the more control he has over it, but while in it he gains a small boost to his strength, agility, and regeneration abilities due his mind falling into a primal state losing some of the natural blocks to prevent him from injuring himself. This isn't enough to make it to where Glipper can leap to a second story window or break down a durasteel door but enough to give him a light edge against most normal oppents. It also has a effect similar to regrowing multiple limbs so afterword he is normally knocked out and requires rest. If he regenerates a entire limb he also runs the risk of going into a Feeding Frenzy immediately. (Normally takes 7-13 turns to regain reason depending on the amount of blood and if Glipper was ready for it) Strength: Glipper gets a increase to his Strength((normally Glipper can lift up to 133 lbs. of weight, in Frenzied he can lift up to 200lbs.)) and Regen((regen time is halved while in Frenzied state)) while in this mode Flaw: Glipper is just as likely to eat a friend as he is an enemy, due to Glipper's mind losing some of its natural blocks can be severally injured afterwords as well as unable to move due to being worn out. During this state Glipper is unable to use any form of weapon other than claws and teeth. Glipper will over exert himself and lose his regen ability for 24 hours if he is in a Frenzied state for longer than 4 turns, this will mean when he comes out of the state he will be unable to move for at least one day due to his muscles breaking down and various other health issues resulting in this. Well, finally ready to do this, so here we go. The Mask: I'm okay with most of this, howeverm I suggest adding a turn time to the vision switching, for example, one turn for a switch in between, so it's not instant. This won't count as a full action, but it would take effect the next turn. The intercom with visuals for an AI I'm not so sure about, I feel like it can be used for metagaming to an extent. Regeneration: I feel as though this is a bit of an overpowered ability. Pure regen after only a few turns is incredibly... "Deadpool". I think that this would be pretty OP regardless of what happen, unless some serious downsides are placed into it. The Feeding Frenzy can easily be seen as a "Berserk" mode. OFten regarded as a heavy buff. Feeding Frenzy: This will require more specific numbers in order to show how much he will change in this state, however, this seems like more of an adrenaline state, in which they use their existing strength to their limits. Please take time to make tweaks. |

Thank you Rose...now for those new peoples that may be reading this as you can see it is the staffs job to look for things that will give unfair advantages due to the apps, mainly looking at if they can be used to meta-game, be unbeatable, or various other types of details. So now I have two different options here: 1. I can cancel the whole app and forget it or 2. I can rework the apps to meet the requirements, ((feel free to ask staff for help we want this to be a fun environment so if we can work with you to make your apps do able we will)). I have made a few changes to the apps I will highlight in red to make obvious((this you don't have to do I am doing for example)) and generally you make a post letting us know you have reworked the app. Here is the app as originally written for record purposes Spoiler: click to toggle
