The UK's top police officer has blamed social media for normalising violence and leading more children to commit stabbings and murders.

Met Police commissioner Cressida Dick told The Times social media sites "rev people up" and make street violence "more likely".

Fatal stabbings in England and Wales are at their highest levels since 2011.

Ms Dick announced a new task force of about 100 officers to tackle violent crime in London.

As if social media being blamed for mental health problems was bad enough. What's your stance on this?

(I know the story shown is UK-based but, I suppose it may apply to other nations too)
Fight, in this world of aggression.
Fight, in this world of deceit.
Fight, in this war of oppression.
Fight, let the killing proceed.

I don’t think social media leads to aggression. It’s just like that time people thought video games led to violence.

Exactly. But even so, social media does lead to mental health problems, no? Instagram's the number one culprit for it.

It may lead to mental health issues, but not violence.
