Well now, something else gets involved with crazy politics, and what inspired me to make this very thread was from that political position quiz. It had me thinking... if any piece of abstract art doesn't really represent anything, should it still be classed as "art" or not?

No, if it has no actual meaning to it and doesn’t look good in any way. I can smear my excrement on a canvas and call it art, but is it really? That’s what abstract art feels like.

Or do what Doug once did, draw a small red scribble at the near top-left corner of the canvas. Would you call that "art" too?

You don't know? It was a popular cartoon on Nickelodeon in the 90s. I grew up with him.

Art usually conveys emotion/meaning. If a piece of abstract art has no meaning it isn’t art. Based on the logic some use my damn piss is abstract art.
