Should it be legal or not? And if so, how should it be regulated? What are your thoughts on it? I know there's already a thread on I made on prostitution and victimless crimes, but this one is solely on marijuana for more in-depth talks on the subject.

I think it should be government regulated (and taxed), but legal and for more than just medical purposes. Banning it has proven to be very ineffective.

I believe it should be legalised solely for medical use but if it should be used for anyone to get their high when needed most, then that can do also. But even so, it must be heavily regulated, otherwise we'll see a nation of junkie zombies everywhere.

It should be allowed for recreation. The war on drugs in my country has been a huge failure, so legalizing marijuana will only lessen money and crime.

It should be legal, but shunned, if you get what I mean. Why should we glamorize something degenerate?

Yeah, I think it should be treated the same way tobacco and alcohol are.

Marijuana is not as bad as tobacco and alcohol is. However, it is possible the marijuana users may use weed as a "stepping stone" to more dangerous substances.

If RationalWiki is to be believed (their bias on scientific topics is lower than on politics), the evidence for this "gateway drug hypothesis" is far from conclusive.
I know that it's not bad as tobacco or alcohol. I was just saying it should be treated in a you-are-allowed-to-do-this-but-it-is-not-good-for-you way and that's how alcohol and tobacco are treated.

I say it should be legalised for both medical and recreational use, but it should be taxed and regulated heavily. It certainly shouldn't be glamorised.

Marijuana is less addictive and treacherous than cannibis. I think should it should be legally allowed. Medical effects with it is not very serious also.

I'm pretty sure marijuana and cannabis are the same thing...

Are you saying you think there's a psychological effect there if it's called "cannabis"?

Ditto with Jason. By all means, legalize weed - people need medications, it isn't something like cocaine, and its legalization basically means drug lords have one less thing to offer.

However, don't glorify it. It's a drug, regardless of how you view it.
