I saw this on Reddit, and thought it was interesting. It works something like this.

"For example - for a given hypothetical offense -

if you make $10,000, you are fined $100.
If you make $100,000, you are fined $1,000 for the same offense.
If you make $1,000,000, you are fined $10,000 for the same offense."

Do you guys think this is a good idea? At first glance, this might seem like a good idea as everyone is truly treated equally, but this could also be abused. If a completely broke person makes an offense, does that mean he gets to pay 0 dollars?

It looks like a good idea to me. You shouldn't pay fines if you don't have the money for it.
