It's a new day at John C. Fremont High School, Santa Monica. Students are filing into their homeroom classes, some eager to learn and full of life, others decidedly less spirited; however, almost everyone is excited about summer vacation, which is just around the corner.. The teachers, of course, are already all present, having arrived to set up their lessons well before the first student set foot in the school building. OOC: Alright, to start - since I'd like everyone to start in the same party, you'll all get the same homeroom. Agg will be the sole teacher, and yes he's yours. Have fun playing angry black guys or something now

Suarez and Tony walked into class talking, pushing, laughing, and late as always. Not caring that they were interrupting class, they walked to the back of the room sat in their normal seats and continued to talk to one another acting like the teacher was not in the class. |

Zakir and Bepa enter the classroom talking in Serbian, they see that the teacher has started talking, exchange a glance and apologize for the tardiness. They take their seats and exchange a few more glances before looking towards the front of the room. |

The class appears to be entirely ignoring Mr. Harrison. The various kids are fooling around, chatting and joking with their friends, listening to their music, throwing paper planes around the class, or bugging their enemies. In the back of the class, Suarez can see Jack Sharkey, a leather-clad boy with a reputation for being an antagonistic hard-drinking loner, trying to light a smoke to his left. To his right, 'tough guy' Homer Stryker, a barrel-chested senior known for having a volatile temperament and for breaking at least half a dozen noses and limbs a year in both out-of-school and in-school altercations, is leaning in his chair to their right. The first thing Tezric notices about his surroundings is that the boy supposed to sit in front of him, Charles 'Upchuck' Reese, is missing as usual. Come to think of it, Reese hasn't come to class for weeks at a time, and now is no different. Kurosawa is broken out of her slumber by several crumpled paper balls thrown at the back of her head. Behind her, the 'Brat Pack' are giggling and making mocking gestures at her. That posse of cheerleaders and 'popular' girls had never been particularly friendly to anyone they considered outsiders, especially 'weirdos' like her, and their leader Brynn Summers was the worst of the lot. |

Ayane hisses in annoyance. Again, these fools believe they can annoy her with their petty little antics. A voice speaks in her head. "So the signs in the cards may be true..." She mutters quietly to herself before putting on her headphones and covering them with her hood. She then starts her cd player and ignores the girls. |

Zakir and Bepa whisper to each other in Serbian. Zakir appears to careless abouth the boy's disappearance, Bepa on the other hand seems to at least show some interest. Ultimately deciding that it's not worth spending to much time considering and disscussing, they start to disscuss other things, the inccedent with Ayane draws their attention briefly. |

Frankie leans back in his seat and lights a smoke, Tony leans back in his seat trying to copy his friend. The two make note of Ayane with a laugh and start to talk again, about the hot girls in class, about what they are going to do after school, etc. |

Gabriel sat quietly in class, seemingly his head in the clouds, aloof to both the teacher and the class. |

The Brats are in no way deterred by Ayane's ignoring their antics - if anything, it seems to have made them try harder to annoy her and thus grab her attention. Aside from continuing to throw paper balls and planes at her (some missing and hitting other students instead, much to their annoyance) they've also begun to openly mock her appearance and habits, speaking loudly enough for half the class to hear. None are more vicious with their comments than Summers herself, as usual. "I bet she's really just sleeping again! Well, that or she's trying to find other ways to cheat without getting caught, it's the only way she could be doing well!" "Why does she wear black all the time? Hey, maybe it's 'cause her mommy and daddy bit it?" "Look at that hair! Think she lost a bet like Leblanc?" As irritated as they may have been with the Brats' behavior though, few of her fellow students are willing to come to Ayane's aid against the notoriously cruel clique. Indeed, at this time only the young woman sitting to her right seems to be willing to speak up in her defense - breaking her conversation with her boyfriend Joshua Leblanc, Katie Holliday turned to snap at the Brats, "Hey, don't you Brats have anything better to do? Leave her alone already! She hasn't even done anything to you!" ![]() Summers is in no way pleased by her sudden intervention. "Oh piss off Holliday, this isn't any of your business! Why d'you care so much about a freak like Kurosawa here, anyway? If you know what's good for you, then you'll leave us right now!" -------------------------------------------- Horvok is accidentally hit by one of the paper balls thrown by the Brats, intended for Kurosawa but finding itself bouncing off her shoulder instead. Neither Sharkey (now having successfully lit up his cigarette) nor Stryker (now chatting it up with a few boys Suarez recognizes as members of his street gang, the aptly named 'Strikers') pay much attention to Suarez and Devito. Nobody is paying Anastasio, considered the class's one and only 'Jesus freak', much attention, either. |

Ayane replies, but does not turn to look at them as she is laughing at them, actually. " My my..so the few collective brain cells you cheerleader airheads have are actually working today? Impressive. But oh, it's the same old insults as usual, and what you do to other people as well..kind of old, but I suppose when one is more interested in flirting with boys to get their homework done by some poor nerd or to cheat, it shouldn't be suprising that a collective of them can't come up with anything more inventive than they have used in the past. Oh, and it's not me who cheats..I highly doubt the little pack of cheerleaders has enough braincells between them to comprehend anything more than the basics of history. Also, why do you lot dress like prostitutes? Oh..or do the cheerleaders sell themselves in return for grades or something from other students?" Ayane states this all, then looks down at her watch, smiling. |

'ALRIGHT, LISTEN UP!' Harrison roars, 'THIS IS AN ADVANCED PLACEMENT CLASS! WHY ARE YOU HERE?' The class groans, 'to get college credit' 'ALRIGHT THEN. IF YOU WANT COLLEGE CREDIT, THEN YOU BETTER START ACTING LIKE YOU DO! SUMMERS - SHUT THE HELL UP! SHARKEY, PUT THAT DAMNED CIGARETTE OUT! FRANKIE, TONY, YOU TOO! ZAKIR, BEPA! SPEAK ENGLISH OR SHUT UP, OR BETTER YET BOTH! I am extremely disappointed in this class! Shape up, or you're all being expelled! The only person who deserves to pass this class right now is Anastasio!' Harrison Jr. comes in late. Harrison Sr. is livid. 'You, son, sit down right now or your ass is gettin' beat with a stick!' |

The other students reluctantly do as they're told - well, kind of. Sharkey does put his cigarette out by tossing it to the floor and stomping all over it, but not without much complaining, half-shouting at Harrison "Chill out, teach - prof - dude!" from his seat at the back of the class. The Brats bite back their retaliatory comments, instead settling for muttering about how Kurosawa was a 'cow', 'freak' or both and how their teacher 'needs to get laid more often'. Other students break off their conversations, with just as much or even more complaining, and somebody at the far back actually has the nerve to yell, "You suck, teach!" As Holliday turns away, visibly trying to suppress a smirk, Kurosawa can hear her say something under her breath. "Hey, keep that coming. The Brats need to hear that kind of stuff more often, seriously..." |

Johnny and Mary Bradley arrive, each carrying a tardy slip, which they hand to Mr. Harrison. "Sorry we're late. We had some car trouble on the way in." Johnny takes his seat in the middle of the room, Mary right next to him, eying the rest of the class timidly. She was the only sophomore in a room full of upperclassmen. Now was the time when being on an advanced schedule wasn't an advantage... (OOC: As far as I know. If that's wrong feel free to strike me down. :P) |
