About You Name: Dill Contact Info: AIM-ask Characters on WotR: Serenon the Silver How Did You Find Us?: Advert
General Information: Name: Gothmog Alias: The General of Sauron, Gothmog the Mighty, Gothmog the Elf Killer, Gothy the Grump Gender: Male Homeland and Type: Half-Black Orc, origins in Moria, Half-Human origins from the Beorning Lands (not of the Beorning line) Age: 127 years of age In the Service of: Sauron
Weaponry Weapons: - Gothy here owns a sword. It’s your standard run of the mill sword except for the fact that it is from Sauron. It contains a fair bit of power. It was actually part of a three piece set. A necklace, a sword, and a bangle. Each one pa key part of the enchantment. The necklace itself is the most significant part. It is the key piece of the battle set that forever binds him to Sauron. It is a symbol and a act of his power, any thought of rebellion and the necklace will strangle and burn. The bangle is the lesser part of the set. It ensures heightened everything,. Worn around the foot it granted great speed, strength, regenerative properties, and various other minor abilities. The most offensive part of the set is, you guessed it, the sword. It ahs a slightly rusty look about it, is fairly long, and holds the power to set flesh alive with fire on contact. It seems especially potent with elves, causing their flesh to explode with violence.
Gothmog is noted with fear amongst all races for his sword, it’s at least four feet in length and made of the best Orcish Steele and wrought with black speech laid into every inch of the blade. When the light catches it in mid swing it is truly a dark sight to behold. The blade seems to be glowing with an unearthly light all its own. The sword appears to be heavy and it is duly so. In fact the enchantments upon it make it so heavy that only the one who owns the other two articles from the set can lift it. They only other begins strong enough to break such an enchantment would be bearers of the rings. As back up weapons Gothmog carries on him always an array of knives, a small hand axe, a spiked chain, and various poisons ready to be smeared on the blades of these items at any time for a more powerful effect.
Armor: - Hell yeah he has armor. What type of self-respecting person would go into a battle with a death wish like not wearing armor. Unlike his weapons his armor has no special properties, but it is freakishly light. He has a full body chain mail suit, over that he wears assorted leather padding and then furthermore a bit of thin plate armor made form the hardest iron.
Steed: - oddly enough he has own personal battle troll. It’s your average large mountain troll, decked out with battle armor and spikes. A riding harness and other equipment that makes it a dangerous foe in battle. Their naturally thick skin provide adequate defense and their raw strength coupled with spiked battle gauntlets creates a deadly steed indeed. The ogre has had its eyes ripped out and its ears are oddly missing. The only outside stimuli it receives is from the harness which controls every movement that it makes. Gothmog has complete and uncanny control over the beast. It can move almost any and which way that would be possible for a wild and free troll could.
Other steeds would include a set of great hunting Wargs. They are ferocious animals that are blinded and trained to obey only the commands set forth by Gothmog. They are made up words compiled from fragments and thoughts of his own devising, a mini-language of his own creation that none know the details of. These Wargs were three of many that once were fought and put under the most strenuous of tests and trials before they were chosen. Where there were 50 now three remain. Large, dark, and brutal these Wargs are thought to be one of the worst fates to befall a man. Their hunting skills are renowned across the land, rumor has it that they rarely rest on the hunt and that none but the most careful of elves can evade them effectively.
Powers: - No powers are attributed to Gothmog here except for that which is given to him by lord Sauron. Anything that has not been mentioned before is not present.
Description Physical Description: - Gothmog is a half breed, a rare thing in middle earth. As bad as it is they only usually show up when Orcs capture and rape human women. Even then they usually kill the girl and are done with it. Every now and again they forget to, or think they’ve already done so, and that’s the end of it…but how do they look. Actually at birth they show signs of the mother, whatever they may be (occasionally you have an Orc woman and a human falling in love, even rarer than the rape case) and then later on as the half breed matures they gain the father’s features. In Gothmog’s case his father was an Orc so today he looks to be a rather different kind of Orc. His skin is dark and greasy, more so than most Orcs and it is considerably black in color. He has a load of muscle mass and savagely sharp teeth. Beady red-black eyes and long dark hair. His body is sinewy and made up of the toughest of meat, hacking into it with anything but the sharpest of blades can often prove to be like hacking into a second layer of armor. This does nto imply that he doesn’t need armor, just saying his skin is toned, scared, and tough in and of itself. A sword bite to the arm isn’t going to take him down armor or not. However a cut into the chest, the heart or lung areas, would be the same as slashing any other person In the same area.
As to the aforementioned sets of armor and weaponry and its placement: one must understand that Gothmog is always prepared. He rarely sheds all of his weapons or his armor. He wears his full suit of chain mail at all times. He has rarely been seen without it. Even if his thicker armor isn’t present this bit of armor is. He wears it under normal clothes, and it has become as normal to him as anything. The only drawback that he has come to know with it is nto a hindrance for him truly. You simply can’t be quite in such a thing. Gothmog, however, has rarely ever had to worry about being quiet. Okay so, over this layer of armor is where he most often wears the next set of clothing. Maybe it’s an everyday type of garb, but when he’s for war it’s the extra bit of armor. The plated stuff. You show, the form fitted and comfortable Steele. Where it appears it is also separated from his body by some padding made of leather. This is to help in case the armor is pierced and to absorb some of the shock of the heavier blows.
He wears the plating armor on his body in a few main places. He has boots made of the leather type, and greaves of iron. Towards his upper body he is in possession of a cuirass that has been made so that his sword arm is free from the confines of all armor and that there is less armor on the left side to enable more movement,. This is a known weak spot. However his right arm has been fully contained in the same iron plate armor except for the hand which is a thick but worn leather gauntlet with a thinner set of platting over it. This is his free non-gripping hand. He may use this as a makeshift shield arm (which he often does). He may use it also to steady a two handed weapon but it is rather hard to wield anything accurately through a thick glove that allows little finger movement. As for his helm, hit is made as to compliment his head, with an open face but and optional visor like thing that usually sets on top of the helm as if a crown of sorts. The helm is the heaviest piece of the set, all of it being rather light, but the helm is also them sot important so thusly it’s reasonably that it’s a bit uncomfortable and thicker. It’s for his protection, but even so, sometimes he has been known to take the thing off.
Avatar: Question…I can’t find a person fugly enough… Personality: - His connections to Sauron makes him the next best thing to an extension of the Maia. In a way one could argue that he is under the divine protection of the dark Lord, and it is true that the Dark lord has more power over Gothmog than any other mortal at this moment. If the Dark One so wished he could turn Gothmog into naught but a mindless zombie. Most of his life he has been afraid of that thought, and through that fear he has come to obey Sauron’s will without forethought. Very little of his self is left within him, he is a shadow of his former self. Sure he still makes decisions, but nto in his own way. He is always thinking of the Dark One before himself. He never dares to even move for it to be pleasing unto his highest of masters. Yet even through all this oppression he has retained a bit of himself within his mind./ While most of his normalcy seems to have stemmed form a lifetime of being in constant touch with the dark one, he still has something within him that has allowed him to remain unique amongst all the others that follow him.
He has come to think that it is because of his half human blood and nature that he has been able to do this, yet in truth it is merely by chance that his mind is like that. He has the stubbornness of an Orc and the determined nature of a human mixed together to provide a small bit of sanity amongst the turmoil that runs rampant in his mind. He could never defy a direct order from one of the two beings that are higher up than him. He could however work with it in a really complex nature in which powerful reasoning is used to give him more freedom. Which shows that if Gothmog had been allowed to live normally he would have been a shrewd and intelligent being. He still is, underneath all the subjugation and oppression there exists a small flame f what would have been and what could be if Sauron was overthrown, and he was free to live a life that was completely devoid of battle and war. Yet even if the dark one was destroyed he’d simply become just another Orc that would raid and pillage and so there is little hope for him either way. Deep down he knows this and has thus adopted the view that to live is no good unless you are worth something. That is why he serves of his own free will, because that way he is worth something.
Gothmog is merciless and constantly vigilant in battle and in life. He spent his younger days under the whip of an Orc Salve Driver, though rocs don’t have slaves, either way he was used to help rebuild the tower of Barad-Dur, he knows every inch of the vile place and has intimate knowledge of the building. Afterwards he rose though the ranks instilling in him a feeling and manner of superiority to those he viewed lesser and so there are few that he views higher than himself. He is full of ever-watchful pride and never lets his guard down because he knows to do so in the world that he is in would mean that he is chancing not only loosing his position of power and worth but also his life. He knows, morbidly so, that there is not one person out there that thinks that they would give life and limb for a position such as this. By keeping and protecting this spot he showing many characteristics of his personality, stubbornness, pride, cautiousness, mercilessness, ruthless superiority issues, and on some level compassion for others. He would never want to wish the blessing and curse of a fate on any other living being, strike that on any other being dead or alive.
History: - Gothmog was born to a woman who managed to escape death, but in her eyes his birth was a gorses and horrid abomination, but it looked so much like her and so human that she couldn’t give it up. For ten years she watched Brandir grow ever darker and ever more savage looking. She finally couldn’t take it anymore, she could nto bear the shame and so she took him across the river Anduin into the forests, a full months journey and there she dumped him. As unseen vengeance for her actions, for her lack of love and selfish pride as she crossed back across the river she was overcome by the wind. It knocked her from her horse and she fell into the waters. Her head hit a stone as she landed on the ground. Her head split open and the blood flowed forth letting the river Anduin darken at the shallow crossing. There she lay faced down in the water no longer possessing the ability to move…she drowned in her watered down blood. Yet her selfishness and vanity lived on her son, if he was ever that to her. Brandir roamed the woods and was finally picked up two years alter, he looked to be a young Orc, and so he was treated harshly by the raiding party, but he was taken in none the less.
He spent the next several decades as little more than a slave boy. He ahs slice marks in his back from where the whip flayed skin from bone, but it only made him stronger. He labored away rebuilding the dark tower and in time came to know the tower itself intimately. And within time he rose amongst the rocs when his savage brutality could be curbed no longer. He went ape-shit and took hold of the drivers whip and wrapped it around his arm. The whip came loose and so began his devilish killing spree. It started with him strangling the driver with his own whip and then leading a mild rebellion in front of the dark tower. IT ended abruptly when their so-called leader suddenly turned those who rallied around him on. After a brief stint of killing several people who got to close he managed to ensure the suicide of many other Orcs and then that another bit of them killed their comrades. It was then that he was detained by the might of Sauron and within the next ten years semi-brainwashed and put under the charge of the Witch-King.
Under his tutelage he rose quickly to become one of the most powerful and viscous Orc Generals and even more so as of late he ahs gained fame for his campaigns into Gondor, so great in fact that he’s been promoted to one of the greatest positions available in the Mordorian army. He is now one of Sauron’s most powerful generals, he is a lieutenant of Minas Morgal and is often out traveling between There and the Black Gate for that is the area which he patrols. He holds a vast retinue of Orcs that are at his command all specializing in some form of weaponry and blackened art of torture. He takes up residence at Minas Morgal only for part of the time, approximately one month out of the year unless he is called there for actual planning. Though this is often not needed because he’s in direct contact with Sauron as well as being linked closely with the Witch-King who happens to be able to fly over large distances in little time.
