Stream Nothing After 72 hours on her feet, rest was coming to greet her. The blankets embraced her like a warm mother, diluting her aches and her anxieties. She had made it, and now she was allowed to sleep. The smell of tuna never left her fingers, but she didn't care, at that point. Survival had become a full time job, and she was becoming extremely good at it. Just when she was slipping into a placid state of blissful relaxation, the noise began. The depository of all her love was also the source of all her stress, and the affection given was returned in the form of screams and fetid refuse. She pushed a pillow over her own head, hoping she would quiet the screams, but it was not working. The high pitched wailing struck her body like a lightning, leaving that acrid taste in the roof of her mouth. She was, again, wide awake, trembling, and feeling her life was being drained through her eardrums. She stood up, and walked towards the little angel. It had been born with teeth and hair; huge, grotesque, misshaped. It had broken her on arrival, and destroyed her life afterwards. And she was supposed to love the screaming beast. She pressed a pillow against the gaping hole of its mouth, and didn't move until the noise was long gone. She felt a cold finger tracing her spine, but the noise was gone. She went back to sleep, to relax, to forget. Silence hugged her tighter than any blanket, with its cold breath whispering "Murderer" in her ears. She was surprised to discover that a whisper inside her head was so much powerful than a scream from a cot. |

Arcanum (pl. Arcana) Related terms: archetype, card Major Arcana of tarot. In our game's reality they are used as representation of character archetypes. Each Arcanum contains a vast palette of characters that share a few recurring personality traits. * * * Inner aspect Related terms: introspection, metacognition, concealed Inner aspect is the part of identity which relates to intention, insight and the way we view ourselves. It is largely contained in one's mind, thus it rarely manifests to the world outside in its pure form. * * * Outer aspect Related terms: reaction, instinct, overt Outer aspect of identity is rooted deep in the subconscious and defines the way we interact with environment through impulsive reactions. It is also connected with intuitive perception of our surroundings. * * * Concordial trait Related terms: advantage, merit, benefit, blessing These are positive traits, inborn or gained through living experience, that bear enough significance to deserve a mention. Every concordial trait brings a character closer to inner harmony, stability and the feeling of security. * * * Discordial trait Related terms: disadvantage, flaw, impediment, curse These are negative traits, inherited from one's family or gained in the course of life, that are noteworthy because they hamper our day to day life. Each discordial trait dents the stable foundation and brings the feeling of insecurity and disharmony. * * * Soul instability Related terms: spiritual instability, instability, SI At conception, every human is perfectly stable, symbolized by a zero. Instability is a scale from 0 to 500 that represents how far destabilized and disconnected from its pure origins the character is. The degree of instability dictates one's relationship with the world and people that inhabit it. * * * Soul perk Related terms: perk, gratuity Soul perks represent knowledge and deeper understanding that the soul gains through incarnations. In terms of practicality, perks replace classic experience & attribute system. Much like it is typically the player who chooses how to spend experience points, in our game players choose when (if at all) to activate accumulated perks. Perks may only be obtained upon death, for it is followed by the final judgement of late character's actions. * * * Incarnation Related terms: body, shell, vessel Incarnation is a combination of immortal soul with mortal body. While the spiritual identity is relatively persistent, bodies come with endless variety of genetic makeup that determines the appearance, health and to large extent - personality. Body, the incarnate, is the soul's vehicle in our world. |
