Shortform name: Kanzaki Real life culture influence: Japan Real life culture of former colonizer: Japan Population: 7,150,000 GDP (PPP) per capita: $64,500 GDP (nominal) per capita: $75,000 Military manpower (active/reserve): 50,000/150,000 Language(s): Japanese, Korean (limited), Mandarin Chinese (limited) Additional info: A former colony of a Japanese power until the early 20th century, Kanzaki is a constitutional monarchy. Its system of governance is characterised by its incorporation of a culture of meritocracy and technocracy. Kanzaki's foreign relations are mostly defined by its policy of neutrality - the exception is reserved for its former colonial overlord; who naturally bears the brunt of Kanzakian hostility. The Kanzakian economy is primarily driven by the service sector, with the industrial and agricultural sectors playing lesser roles in terms of absolute GDP percentages. Banking, healthcare , tourism and education are just four of Kanzaki's cornerstone industries, while Kanzaki's traditionally great emphasis on sustainability has led it to become one of Tiandi's leaders in the field of alternative energy generation. It is also one of the key banking hubs in Tiandi, and is home to one of the largest stock exchanges in the region. Militarily, the Kanzakians have nothing more than a glorified marine corps. Its circumstances leave it singularly unsuited to waging grand land wars, and as such the traditional military focus has been on naval supremacy. As such, Kanzaki's navy is the largest, and most well-funded, branch of its armed forces. Its military doctrine revolves around the axiom 'if you can't win, don't lose' - with its principal focus being waging an attritional defensive war on Kanzakian territory. Aside from that, however, Kanzaki does possess limited expeditionary capabilities - it has played involved roles in both small-scale overseas conflicts and humanitarian operations. (Note - I'm still spitballing ideas for Kanzaki! Please feel free to comment or ask questions - constructive criticism always welcome!) Link to claim example (optional): I'm fine with anywhere, as long as Kanzaki's geographical location does not preclude its having four distinct seasons! |
