Hello there. Are you bored? Of course you are! Do you know what Civ V is? You should. Are you interested in turning your boring old nation into a full-blown civ? Well this is the thread for you!! See bottom of page for app. Some Civ terms; Tall - a few high-population cities with specialists (or dense) Wide - many low-mid population cities in a big empire (or sparse) UGP - Unique Great Person - A replacement for a normal Great Person which can only be generated by one Civilization or provided by allied City-States through completing the Patronage Social Policy tree. There are only two of these in the game - the Mongolian Khan and Venetian Merchant of Venice. Uniques - Collective name for Unique Abilities, Units, Buildings, Improvements and Great People UA - Unique Ability - The unique thing a Civilization has which doesn't need to be built. UB - Unique Building - A replacement for a normal building that can only be built by a single Civilization. UU - Unique Unit - A replacement for a normal unit that can only be built by one Civilization or provided by Militaristic City-States when allied. UI - Unique Improvement (also referred to as Unique Tile Improvement) - A special form of worker tile improvement that can only be built by one Civilization. Unlike unique buildings and units, it doesn't replace anything else. (ripped from Zigzagzigal's guides) Things to tell us: Unique Ability (1 per Civ) Unique; Unit (includes Great People), Building, Improvement (2 total per civ) Leader: Pick an important figure from your history, examples in Civ are Napoleon for France, Darius for Persia and Washington for America. Brief History: Second Person "Oh, Great Leader___", ends with "Can you build a civilization that can stand the test of time?", addressed to leader, explains brief history of your civilization Start Bias: Includes Tundra, Desert, Hills, Plains, Grassland, Snow, Coast, River, Lakes, Island, and more Note: Unique Units/Buildings should state what they are replacing. (E.g. Incan Slingers replaces Archer, German Panzer replaces Tank, Siamese Wat replaces University)) Leader's disposition: Loyalty, backstab chance, likelihood of using nukes, warmongering, friendliness. Victory conditions: Cultural: _/10 Diplomatic: _/10 Domination: _/10 Scientific: _/10

CivV is much better, but mostly for tactical and strategic reasons. It's still the basic premise and idea and you should be able to get it. Regardless you should play it. Only like $20 right now I think. |

Yeah, I'm probably going to get it over the summer. I really don't like that you can't stack units any more though- I usually just build up a giant-ass stack or three and steamroll everything in my path, so that'll be quite annoying. The idea of ranged units is also completely weird, but I'm hoping to get it soon. |
