Going through some threads and Factbooks It seems to me that many factions tend to know others exist, some with established relations. Obviously Terran factions would know of each other through history and contact (unless they were complete isolationistic). Some Alien factions seem to know of each other as well, such as Giothi and Menginginkan Tercerahkan. I think an established degree of interstellar affairs is in order, such as which factions know of the existence of other factions. Is it a Star Wars or Mass Effect styled Galaxy where everyone knows each other, or is it more of an isolation galaxy where contacts are just beginning. I would like to hear what members have to say/share ideas on this concept. Maybe some information about your faction's relations with others? |

Well I'd have to say the Yamato probably know about just about all of you, now whether or not we care about your government is an entirely different matter. Through that and the occasional trading the fleet does, if you don't know of each other you've probably come across other faction's technology. |

Gamma Centauri is probably familiar with most of the human factions, as well as the major alien ones. Those which are more obscure might be left in the dark. |

Even though the Menginginkan Tercerahkan are quite new, they, like most other species who enter the galactic community, must of had some kind of codex system they could review. The Galactic Information Index for one, I'm sure once a species develops FTL travel, information flows quite fast. |

So I think we can agree that there is a good degree of interaction between factions, perhaps primarily in interstellar trade rather than some supranational galactic assembly. Through various trading hubs with stationary locations, comes a 'codex' as Ivantev was saying, and a degree of interaction amongst organizations. This could potentially create a lot of role play material around piracy, smuggling, and what not. |

There has to be some kind of "galactic government" composed of various "intelligent" species, though. There always is, just like there's always a citadel and council, in almost every type of science fiction universe. |

It would be interesting, but we would need to iron out some details such as its influence over its members. I'm thinking that it is primarily focussed on inter-faction trade regulation, diplomacy, and the archiving of a codex. Maybe its power is very limited as an organization, and its more of a medium for interaction. It would require a fancy space station. |

Well, as coincidence serves... take a glance at Wayward Station. Ya'll can post on that by the way. I was gonna turn it in to a quasi-storefront... but I thinkRP would be better. Could always convert that in to a hub of government. It already serves as a major beacon of interstellar commerce, why not also have it house administration councils? |

The Callenari are generally aware of its immeadiate neighbours - though it chooses to ignore them. Indeed, it wilfully avoids instigating contact simply because it would rather get on with whatever the hell its doing. In terms of trade, The Concordiats borders are technically closed to everyone else - though that doesnt stop the Merchant Guilds of certain broods from sending out the ocassional convoy to willing recipients, though what they take is usually screened heavily by the Concordiat as a form of control in that regard. |

I think we can institute Wayward Station as the central hub for interstellar diplomacy and trade. It should have sections for alien, and other Terran 'neighborhoods' and trading markets. Sort of an attempt at social cohesion. |

Awesome. I'll go post a "claim" to place it on the map. |

post your official claim while you're at it. The map suffered an issue and required an update. |
