Hotel Username: Mikeos Character Name: James Roche Character Alias: Strobe Character Age: 17 Character Affiliation: Wayne Foundation
Character Powers:
EM Spectrum Manipulation: James can shape and manipulate a few of the electromagnetic spectrum, the range of all possible frequencies of electromagnetic radiation, which in order of increasing frequency and decreasing wavelength, consists of radio waves, microwaves, infrared radiation, visible light, ultraviolet radiation, X-rays and gamma rays. He is unable to construct and create his own energy, therfore can only latch onto existing sources.
Light Manipulation: Despite the broad scope of potential powers within light manipulation, Strobe can only shape and manipulate light and colors within half a mile radius and to a lesser degree bending/shifting light particles. This gives him the capability of holographic projections, visual illusions and invisibility.
Electromagnetic Vision: Strobe perceives the world around him based solely on magnetic and electrical energy. Through his eyes, he can see the entire electromagnetic spectrum and can tune his vision to interpret the various ranges of energy. For example, he can see energy flowing through power lines and technological objects, whether they're active or not such as a radio transmitter being on and if it's sending signals. In addition, he recognizes living beings by there natural magnetic auras surrounding them.
Radio Manipulation: Strobe can manipulate radio waves and frequencies as well as things that use radio waves, such as AM and FM waves, TV radio waves/frequencies as well as waves/frequencies from cell phones, AM or FM radio, Radar, and so on. Under radio manipulation, there are many applications. In regards to them, he is incapable of radar sense and emitting energy blasts at opponents. For a full list of his applications, read the list below.
Intercept and interpret messages in radio waves
Broadcast your own messages by using radio waves
Can jam signals to disrupt broadcast
Can affect radio wave relaying things like satellites an radio towers
Can affect radio waves/frequencies between cell phones
Can affect TV radio waves/frequencies
Can affect AM or FM radio waves/frequencies
Can affect Wi-Fi technology
Can affect Radar radio waves/frequencies (and use them to get by radars unnoticed)
Can make it so a TV program or Radio station broadcasts to another area outside the local area
Can affect remote control objects
Character Abilities:
Disc Jockeying: Strobe performs at small venues by mixing recorded music for audiences, using his various powers to intensify the experience by using light and wave manipulation to create a rave environment. Due to his skills as a DJ, this is how the alias Strobe came to be after using strobe lighting at many of his performances.
Songwriting: Through his life, James has experienced many challenges which has gave him a full catalog to write from, using songwriting as a medium for emotional release. In conjunction with his disk jockeying and record producing, he has created many tracks on his own personal unreleased album.
Character Weaknesses:
Strobe was blinded in both eyes after suffering a length of exposure to high levels of microwave radiation as a child. He is incapable of seeing like any normal person would, only having access to viewing the world in his electromagnetic vision.
Due to his blindness, his other senses are heightened, not supernaturally more so the fact he relies on them and is vulnerable too loud sounds and strong aromas.
In addition to exposure to microwave radiation as a child, he was also affected by long exposure to ultraviolet and has been diagnosed with Stage two Basal cell carcinoma, a common type of skin cancer.
