Andrew reminds us that there's still time to turn things around, and also lays out how to do it.

Excellent, Andrew! If Toonami can give us quality anime, then maybe the Revolution isn't dead yet. However, Toonami should be faithful to its Mission Statement: To be the home of the best action cartoons on the planet! I prefer Friday, but if that's not to be, give us at least 3 hours of GOOD anime on Saturdays.

BTW, memo to Cartoon Network: Kill Bakugan AGAIN & Return Samurai Jack... NOW!

I agree that there is definitely still potential. All the details on the new Friday block haven't been revealed yet, so I guessing like my others, that is might be a relaunched Toonami.

I also believe this new Moribito show could be the show that refuels Toonami. That is if it doesn't go to Adult Swim, which I hope dosen't happen.

Good article, Andrew. I agree with you wholeheartedly that Toonami, while in a really rough spot, can still climb out of it with just a little bit of effort. The fact that One Piece is returning this summer is a good start, and if Toonami does land something as stylish and provocative as Moribito that would be a huge shot in the arm.

We can't completely discount Toonami being moved to Fridays but at this moment it's not likely. But CN can at least make a decent anime block out of it. Zoids Genesis, Naruto, One Piece, Moribito, Blue Dragon, and something else (Zatch or MAR) would make a decent three hours with a variety of genres and styles represented.

You have a good selection, macattack. However, if Cartoon Network continues their current formula, we'll still have a Naruto Hour. Maybe once Hurricane Chronicles AKA Shippuden starts, we'll have 6 different shows. For now, my preferences, in no particular order:

  • Blue Dragon
  • Zatch Bell
  • Moribito
  • One Piece (YES!)
  • Naruto hour

I think the Jetstream hits determine if MAR comes back or Zoids Genesis premieres; it would be nice if Zoids Genesis gets ON Jetstream... BTW, as a Dallas Cowboys & NFL fan, I'd like Eyeshield 21 to come back (intact) to Jetstream. If it does well on Jetstream again, put it on Toonami once the NFL regular season starts...

As long as its not the heavely edited version. I like the eyeshield 21 manga a lot, so the anime version(over here) was a HUGE disapointment(for me, anyway.)

And nice article btw.

Good stuff. I hope you as good at premonitions as you are at articles. ;) I'm being serious, good article. I liked the way you voiced what pretty much everyone else thinks about the situation. Let's hope for the best.

I liked the article. It's nice to see someone express that there is potential for a better Toonami. This article gave me hope. Here's to the revolution being televised!
