Andrew sets a tasty table for Friday nights, and Toonami's the main course. http://www.toonamifan.com/toonamifridaynights.html |

I now have an urge for the new friday block to be called: Dinner with toonami. Tom could serve us shows on a platter, oh im just silly. But anyway, great article. I like how you segwayed the desert options into adult swim. But theyd have to be if they were going to air at such a late hour. With the saturday morning cartoon dying off as we all get older, I believe the friday block could bring back the strength of action cartoons. The revolution continues. |

I'm going to slightly disagree with Andrew's menu, mainly with the number of offerings. Yes, 11:00 PM Friday & Saturday nights are weak hours for [adult swim], but at this time I don't see either [as] giving up 11:00 PM-12:00 AM Fridays or Cartoon Network wanting it bad enough to take it away. Just my opinion & BTW, Andrew, it probably could work if CN/[as] were willing to try it. So if 7:00-11:00 PM (6:00-10:00 CT) is only available, how should it be scheduled? My main concern is where to put Moribito... If it's more Avatar-like & not too dark for tweens, sandwich it between The Secret Saturdays & Star Wars: The Clone Wars @9:00 PM (8:00 CT). Of course, everything slides down, your Naruto/One Piece sammie is off the menu & One Piece leads into [adult swim]. If Moribito is not mature or dark enough for [as], but too dark for earlier in the Friday block, the Naruto/One Piece sammie is still off the menu, with Moribito leading into [as] @10:30 PM (9:30 CT). This scheduling padawan still defers to his Jedi mentor... As for InuYasha leading off [adult swim] starting this Saturday... Would you still prefer it as the last hour of a Saturday "Toonami" or at least the last hour of CN's programming day? |

If Cartoon Network feels that the 11:00-12:00 hour on Fridays is worth taking, they'll take it. CN, despite all feeble pretenses, is in ultimate control of Adult Swim and can bend AS to its wishes. Moribito is far more serious than Avatar but at the same time doesn't plunge into the dark depths that Death Note, Code Geass, Blood+, and other shows AS has run have gone to. The fantasy setting and the themes behind Moribito are similiar to Avatar and Moribito also has quite a bit in common with Rurouni Kenshin, which Toonami did run back in the day. I've watched a few episodes and there is hardly any swearing or blood. The show is safe to run on Toonami with minimal editing. I like Andrew's ideas here and I'm hoping that the Friday block manages to land these shows, whether it is Toonami or not. We need a good action block, and hopefully it'll be Toonami, but if it is a Toonami in spirit I think that is ultimately acceptable. Edit: Uh, I'm sorry, but this sentence makes no sense at all: "Hopefully my musings did sway CN to do the opposite of what I am dreaming of." What-what in the what-what now? |

That was suppose to be "did not" or "didn't". Not sure why that happened. To answer Billy's query. If they didn't have 11PM there would need to be changes. This would probably be best 07:00 - Transformers or Storm Hawks 07:30 - Ben 10: Alien Force 08:00 - The Secret Saturdays 08:30 - Star Wars: The Clone Wars 09:00 - Naruto 09:30 - One Piece 10:00 - Naruto 10:30 - Moribito I'm going to have to guess they wouldn't do something that good. They'd proably do something like this. 07:00 - Transformers 07:30 - Storm Hawks 08:00 - Ben 10: Alien Force 08:30 - The Secret Saturdays 09:00 - Star Wars: The Clone Wars 09:30 - Naruto 10:00 - One Piece 10:30 - Moribito / Clone Wars Encore Sigh... |

Where are the veggies? Oh wait, there they are. (Rizwan just notices Transformers and Storm Hawks) Seriously thought, I don't mind those shows, but as I've said before, Toonami is a Saturday night block, not a Saturday morning block, and I think these kinds of shows, where injury never occurs, where bad puns are made, give the wrong impression. You guys know what I'm talking about, right? Shows where the good guy never gets hurt, where the color red is never seen? Yes, no? Anyway, that's what I think. Other than that, good line-up Andrew. |

Yeah, I know. That's why I was saying that those shows shouldn't be on Toonami, for the reason that they don't feature blood. I think you misread. |

So I assume you don't want Moribito on Toonami. Except for that last scene where Balsa kills the guy & blood shows? My point was Naruto shows blood; not gushing, but there is blood. I thought the FUNimation dub of One Piece had some blood. Was I wrong? |
