Perhaps Telefang is bootlegged into hundreds of different versions... then we cannot keep track of all of them ;_; |

Unfortunately I lack the equipment to provide you with screens. I don't even have a digicam.:( Playing a bit again I just realised that the translation is not quite as bad as I remembered. Most of the sentences are actually grammaticaly correct. Now if only they made sense. I think the worst bits of the translation are inconsistencies. Like the items which are English in the menu and shops but called by their German names in dialogues. And there was this guy in Tulunk who said "Bei Vorstellung bei den Monster im 'Steinberg' musst du ID von 'Wiese' benutzen." (literally translates as "For introduction at the monster in 'Stone Mountain' you must use ID of 'grassland'.") No wonder I didn't understand that he was talking about the strengths and weaknesses of what is called "Hill" and "Land" in the E-Monster information screen. I could go on with other examples but there would be two problems: 1. I can't compare it with the English version since I don't have that. So I might bore you with examples that are equally stupid in your version. 2. This topic here is probably not the best place to do so. I don't want to spam it with an off-topic discussion especially since I'm new here. |

I'm from Germany so please don't be too harsh on me and my English. It shouldn't be much worse than the Engrish of "Pokemon Jade/Diamond". | |

Have you had curry?
|
Went on ebay and found pokemon jade, begged my mom for it for 2 years, (people kept winning the auctions...) This was a few years ago, so this was before diamond for ds. I did some reasearch a little while before I got it. Surprisingly, I still wanted it. I found this forum and RacieB's site. I've known about all this for a while, but never bothered to join until now. Not a very exiting story, but it's how I found out about it. |

I assume that I found out about it a couple years ago while looking up Pokemon Diamond stuff (before the release) on youtube. Then there's always that cd-rom thing my uncle gave me one christmas that had the rom of Diamond on it. (Kinda like the one Milnivri dscribed, but I don't think it had 61 games). I can't remember, but I liked the game and all of its curry-ness. P.S. Milnivri, did it have the "Pokemon: The first movie" logo on the cd? |

I seem to be one of the few people who actually bought the bootlegged cart. I think I was 8 or something, and I was on holiday in Spain with my family, and... I THINK it was just after Pokemon Gold and Silver were released, so I went to buy it at a 'Genuine Fake' game shop. I bought some pirated Gold (not on purpose obviously) and a lot of the game was in Engrish if I remember correctly, so I returned it. Got Diamond instead. Kinda wondering why we didn't take that back... Played the game, learned to love curry, got bored of the lack of a save feature and chucked it in a closet. A good while later (last week) I was on holiday in Turkey, where the fake stuff is even more abundant, and amidst the chat my old game was brought up. Got back yesterday, found the game for kicks, and did some research. Found this place. Wait, the question was how I found out about the games, right? Damn. I knew a patch would be here, I never reckoned it wouldn't be finished. Guess I'm just waitting out the remainder of the hacking. |

I though it was a real pokemon game, but like an underground now yet discrovered by the public version. Later on i found out that it was a hacked made up game (or so i though) then this week I discovered it's real name and such, and that is a was a real game and that the company that made it went out of business in 2003 and that I fail. . . oh I also realized that my "pokemon diamond" is a bootleg version filled with engrish. . . i R sad face. |

I first heard about Telefang after reading an article in a gaming magazine around the time Pokemon Gold and Silver was released. I remember the shot of the Telefang speed version's title screen since I actually drew a dinosaur creature based on the picture of Fungus. I liked monster rpg's and wanted to play it, but of course it was a Japanese exclusive game that most probably was not going to be available to play where I lived. I can't remember how I got to the point i'm at now, but i'm glad I rediscovered the game. Now I can finally play it after all those years, yippee! Krypto~

Well, I guess I should post here, as I just now remembered how I got into Telefang. It all started a while back when I took a look inside an issue of Gamepro, and in it was something like, "Worst games of all time" or something like that, and Pokemon Diamond and Jade were in there. When I read up on them, how they weren't really Pokemon, I put it off for a few years. One day, I was just going through memories, and I remembered that, and so I googled it. You should know what happened from there. |

I read about the bootleg on TRS Rockin, and got the rom of Pokemon Diamond. I enjoyed it quite a bit, especially the Engrish. About two years later(as in now), I found this site, and it grabbed my attention. Now I'm into it again, of course. Lots of bootlegs I've just heard of now. Sheesh, you'd think they'd stop at one... |

Well, it's how it started in the first place: I found the popular VBA emulator off of some weird website, and I had That bitorrent program, And I was looking for some games. I found a pack that included a bunch of roms and a "pokemon diamond" I had never heard of this diamond game before, so I played it, and the snake thing on the beginning was pretty cool (sadly it was non-existent in the actual game. D: But then again, it was a bootleg, after all.) But when I actually started, it had this weird, almost alien engrish (and let's not forget the swearing.) It also had absolutely none of the pokemon that I had known about, and despite some of them were really cool. (oshe, anyone?) It was just TO glitched up to be playable. (It wouldn't even save on the emulator itself!) so I said, "forget it", and went about my business... ...for 4 years. ...and now, after all this, I find out that it was a bootleg. x_x |

Lets see... Back when I was 5 or 6, I was trolling ebay, and came accross pokemon diamond, and pokemon jade. Instanty I begged my grandmother to buy them for me, thinking they were new pokemon games just released. When I got them, I was dissapointed that diamond didn't save but at least jade did. I remember drawing denjuu in 1st grade, mainly keshi, I soon found they were fake and stopped playing. A few years later i found my copy of diamond, and gave it a battery replacement, and to my suprise, it saved! ( :o ) I played up to virginia before it stoped saving again. I was a fan, and I found this site, and am now playing through telefang speed. |
