I don't know whether these are bootlegs or not, but while searching a couple of Chinese auction sites, I came across Chinese boxart for both versions of Telefang 2. The search I did was here Power version Site where I found the Power version Speed version Second pic of Speed version I wonder if this is related to the pirated Pokemon Ruby? A search for the Chinese title shows up screenshots from the pirated Pokemon Ruby, although the Chinese title characters on the menu don't match the title on the boxarts (above) that I found. I kind of doubt they would be genuine, since i've never heard of a Chinese release of Telefang 2, but it's interesting to see they've used the official Telefang art from the genuine boxes. Perhaps there's a very small chance they could be a Chinese release that we haven't heard of? (although they're most likely 100% bootleg) EDIT: I did some more searching online and found some more Chinese Telefang bootlegs: Telefang 2 Speed version cartridge (notice the colors and cartridge are different to the cartridge of Speed i've already posted above): http://goods.ruten.com.tw/item/show?11080227501007 Telefang 1 Speed bootleg (I believe one of the members on this forum has the cartridge for this one?): http://goods.ruten.com.tw/item/show?11091129485248 Also, I found what seems to be a genuine (surprisingly) copy of Power limited as well: http://goods.ruten.com.tw/item/show?11090617482739 Edited by KenjutheDenjuu, Jun 17 2011, 08:01 AM.

I managed to find a couple of multicarts with the bootlegs of Telefang 2 Power and Speed. The games are a direct copy of Pokemon Jade 2 and Diamond 2 except that the title screen for both of them is completely different and no attempts have been made to cover up the fact they're Telefang bootlegs. In fact, it's clearly stated (and shown) on the boxart and title screen. The boxart for the bootleg of Speed actually has part of Rex's nose from the Power version box badly edited onto it as though it was cut off. The Telefang logo on the title screen is edited to feature Chinese version text for each of the games. As usual, I scanned everything in and made a gallery: http://postimage.org/gallery/uyxtmw2/190e4e4b/ |

Yeah, they're all shiny and metallic on the front. It's a bit like the iridescent screws that they use for some of the bootleg cartridges. The back is a plain black plastic like normal cartridges though. They're also really thick and it took quite a while to fit them into my SP, I was worried they would break the cartridge slot because they had to be pushed in with a little force. They work fine though once you fit them in. |
