Hi there, Hole-in-the-Wall Gang.

Big H-fan from back in the crack of dawn -- on a dare to myself, I got 'Pretty On The Inside' when it came out. Saw the band at Lollapalooza, Great Woods 7.25.95. It's absolutely in the Top 10 shows I ever saw. Twas the most moving certainly. I've had in interest in Ms. Love ever since, but never again with the same nearly all-consuming fire. So glad I lived through 'Live Through This.' And yet still here I am burning black for more.

I have little Hole in my boot collection. Tons of stuff by other bands, mostly non-grunge, yet I'm a big G-fan. Be glad to share whatever. Should definitely be able to help maintain missing links. It's what I do, in part. I am unfortunately not a puter-expert so not so hot at website design. I'm a writer not a delighter. Though I am the main-man of a media-fan-site of someone Courtney is a fan of, apparently maybe. I don't own it but I run it, the biggest audio/video file-site that is, for Avril Lavigne, Avril-Media. I am actually only still there at present because I have not been able to find anyone else to take it over, as I am so over her. That could change if Av abandons this adult-contemporary soft-rock syrup she's selling lately. Very little of actually, which may work out in the end in a new flavor in both our favor. Maybe she will start to crackle with some snap in her pop again. And monkeys might fly outta my butt. Hey, the way people look at me sometimes, maybe they do. Hey, maybe that's why they call me monkey-boi!

OK. The huge LTT-promo-photo of the band before a chain-link-fence, that Hole-on-all-the-wall poster that's been looming over my bedhead since '94, along with myself, it they she we here from my bedsit outside of Boston, would like to thank you for what you do so very damn much.

Happy Hole-idays!

Welcome! ^_^

It's great to have another POTI-era fan! So many of us haven't had the luxary of being able to experience Hole at their early, ugly best.

Thanks for all the kind welcome mats.

I would have liked to have seen Hole POTI live. But I consider myself lucky as hell to have seen Hole when I did. Of course that means I'm old as hell, but so it goes.

That Hole day at Lollapalooza was mad. The weather was hot, humid and so sunny. Now I had been a big fan Sinead O'Conner, including being a vocal supporter when she ripped up the pic of the pope. I knew then she was right. Now everyone who's not still in denial knows. Anyway, I was not into her stuff by 1995, so when she was replaced at Lolla by none other than Elastica, I was spastica. Not one but two of what turns out to be, my all-time favorite bands in their prime all in one day no less. Elastica came on in the mid-afternoon. No one was dancing aside from me, 30 or so rows away from the stage, and I was doing so nonstop (I admit the shrooms might have zoomed me on, but I do go to shows to dance). Justine even gave me a shout-out. A girl then even came down from another row and started dancing next to me. Elastica was a fast gas gas gas.

Night fell and Hole entered. Courtney was in total control this night. Now like many I had been profoundly affected when Kurt died the year before. I can't say I felt his spirit that night or anything. Only in her songs, her singing, her ringing guitar. I did feel Court's spirit flying up through the stands and through me like a turbine fan all night long. I was blown away, in tears for much of the show. I was overcome with deep sorrow and amazing joy. The air was heavy and llight at the same time. The night was heavy with tragedy, yet so light from uplifting magical magnificence.

When Hole gave us their all, we gave it up and walked out. Sonic Youth, again a dear fav of mine in the past but who'd past it, were on next. But there was no way I was going out like that. Hole was the best band in the land I never wanted to come down off that. They were the true headliners. Sonic Youth got that slot like a victory lap they had earned long ago. I preferred to leave on a winning note. Half the audience split as well. We rode off into the night and her light forever burning bright inside us...

btw welcome here!! :)
"These two girls show up dressed completely crazy. We set up and they said, 'Okay, just start playing something.' I started playing and they started screaming at the top of their lungs for two or three hours. Crazy lyrics and screaming. I said to myself, 'Most people would just run away from this really fast.' But I heard something in Courtney's voice and lyrics." EE

TYSVM x2! You are most kind.

I am most lucky. I only wish I was luckier and had arrived here sooner, as I am finding the links for a lot of the HQ shows are down.

I will continue on in my search, and if I can find them elsewhere, will return here with them.
