Gold Coast
The Gold Coast consists mostly of high-rise apartment buildings and stone mansions throughout. As with many neighborhoods, its exact borders are subject to dispute; but, generally, they are North Avenue, to the north, Chicago Avenue, to the south, and Clark Street, to the west. The Gold Coast became the home of the super-rich, and includes upscale boutiques and shops. Many of Chicago's best known restaurants are also located here.

Old Town
Old Town is now considered an affluent and historic neighborhood, home to many of Chicago's older Victorian-era buildings. Many of the streets and alleys, particularly in the Old Town Triangle section, predate the Great Chicago Fire and do not all adhere to the typical Chicago grid pattern. Old Town was home to many gays and lesbians starting from the 1950s, but they have since moved to Boystown. Old Town remains as a history slum of falling apart historic buildings.

Goose Island
Goose Island is a 160 acres (0.65 km2) artificial island in Chicago, Illinois, formed by the North Branch of the Chicago River on the west and the North Branch Canal on the east. It is about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) long and 0.5 miles (0.80 km) across at its widest point. In the late 19th century, Peoples Gas, Light & Coke Co. purchased land at the east of the island for industrial plants. The area was nicknamed "Little Hell" because of the smoke produced by the plants. By 1887 there were two grain elevators, eleven coal yards, and a railroad. By the turn of the 20th century many residents began to move off the island and some businesses also deserted it. Ghosts and haunting of the original Irish settlers are rumored to creep at night.

New Eastside
For much of its history this Section was used for Illinois Central rail yards, including the IC's Great Central Station, with commercial buildings along Michigan Avenue. Most of this district has been developed on land that was originally water and once used by the Illinois Central Railroad rail yards. The triple-level street system allows for trucks to mainly travel and make deliveries on the lower levels, keeping traffic to a minimum on the upper levels. Through north–south traffic uses Middle Columbus and the bridge over the Chicago River. East–west through traffic uses either Middle Randolph or Upper and Middle Wacker between Michigan Avenue and Lake Shore Drive.

South Loop
Dearborn Station at the south end of Printers Row, is the oldest train station still standing in Chicago; it has been converted to retail and office space. Most of the area south of Congress Parkway between Lake Michigan and the Chicago River, excepting Chinatown, is referred to as the South Loop. The neighborhood includes former railyards that have been redeveloped as new-town-in-town such as Dearborn Park and Central Station. Former warehouses and factory lofts have been converted to residential buildings, while new townhouses and highrises have been developed on vacant or underused land. The South Loop was historically home to vice districts, including the brothels, bars, burlesque theaters, and arcades. Inexpensive residential hotels on Van Buren and State Street made it one of the city's Skid Rows until the 1970s. One of the largest homeless shelters in the city, the Pacific Garden Mission, is located at State and Balbo.

Lake Michigan Shore
Spanning around 50 miles of coastline, Lake Michigan frames the city of Chicago. The city used to use the lake as a dumping ground until garbage, rotting meat and sewage started washing up on the beaches and forced a clean up effort. There are still those who use the lake to get rid of items they don’t want to leave lying around... *WoD

Englewood
Englewood is a tangle of overgrown lots, abandoned multi-family homes, open-air drug markets (marked by shoes dangling from power lines) and boarded-up garages. Plenty of good people live here, unable to escape the sucking gravity of poverty (and the blood-sucking monsters attracted
to it). Englewood’s reputation is so bad, however, that it stains surrounding neighborhoods and attracts foul souls looking to get away with evil.

New City
The area was home to the famous Union Stock Yards that were on Chicago's south side until closed in 1971. Back of the Yards is an industrial and residential neighborhood so named because it was near the former Union Stock Yards, which employed thousands of European immigrants in the early 20th century. The Canaryville neighborhood is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Chicago and, with neighboring Bridgeport, has a reputation for insularity or hostility to outsiders.

University of Chicago
The gothic style buildings of this state public University makes it quite the site. The sprawling campus green areas are manicured and kept tidy by the grounds crew despite the number of homeless who often take shelter under the trees. Many of the buildings are open to the public, but some, like the research labs, are for students and facility only.
