not strange...you have to be more politcally correct...try...normally challenged.

Close you eyes, take a deep breath, and the ask yourself on simple question, "Is where I am where I should be?"

I pick myself up from the fall to be knocked back down, though I know one day when I get back up there will be nothing left to knock me down. The question is simply this, "Will there be anything left of me?"

Leave me the reins and I'll steer myself to infinty, I've sold my soul to darker side of divinty. I've prayed with the wicked and danced with the damned, but in the end it's all in your hand. Tell me how you lead the lamb astray, searching for somethign in the shadow of the day. I sang, I danced, and laughed, and played. Broken and beaten as my spirit would fade. take my gun, take my knife, but please if you could only just spare me my life? I wasted my time and mispronounced the line, you sold away my soul on the edge of a dime. <-------( random ryhming I just made up of the top of my head. )

Father touched you with the hand of god. He's gripping tighter saying, "You will burn in hell they say, you will burn in hell!"

British people really don't care about Independance day and I don't think "British day" is a correct statement as I have never heard of it (niether has any of my friends) and I'm British so...

I've heard about it online some, about Gordon wanting to have a Britain/UK Day

It was just a joke Mr J. I was kind of interested in seeing if they do or not myself

Well, Ihate the term 'Brits'... <_< I think it's as bad as that 'N' word.

To answer your question, I really couldn't care less about it. ;)

saying 'Brits' is like us calling you a 'yank'. I don't mind the term though as it is not normally meant as a nasty phrase.

We English are indifferent about independance day. You see we English have the trait of "life goes on" because all the time a disaster like the 7/7 London tube bombings in 2005 happens we don't hang about mourning the event, instead we move on and even on the day tube opened up again a lot of people were still using the tube to get to work as if nothing happened.

The same day that WWII ended we all celebrated VE day at Buckingham Palace calling out King George VI and the royal family. The crowds were greeted by an unsuspecting King George VI, Queen Elizabeth (George VI's wife from 1923-1952 and future Queen Mother from 1952-2002), Princess Elizabeth (today's Queen Elizabeth II), Princess Margaret and Queen Mary (King George V's widow from 1936-1953 and George VI's mother). No one mourned the dead but instead celebrated the end of a 6 year war (2 years if you're American <_< !).

It isn't wrong to try to forget the past or even in the case of independance day just accept the past as is what we English did. We just think "good on America they fought for independance and got it", the silly thing is though is that it may of even been beneficial back in the mid 1800's for America to be british as the trade of the Empire helped a lot of countries over the world to get to where they are now i.e. Austrailia. If America remained a colony untill around 1900 then their econamy would of been high and so would of been an easier start. But hey, you can't re-write history.

We had a 4 year war, not 2...

It probably would've been better, but we weren't going to wait another hundred years to get rid of the pestering of taxes and stuff. We became stronger than the other colonies anyway

I didn't suspect you'd care. "Nothing of importance happened today."- King George III

I'll have you know that George III was the most popular monarch of British history (proven). He was grandfather to Queen Victoria and was a wonderful family man who treated his daughters and sons equally -_- . He was misfortunate in the respect that he went insane in 1810 and was taken away for medical treatment while his son ruled as Prince Regent (future George IV) until 1820 when he became King upon George III's death -_- .

George III only said that quote because the war of independance was seen as a war against the British government and not the Crown. George III was not really bothered as the British were fed up with Red Indians causing trouble.

The whole taxes being high thing was an excuse to cause the revolution back in the day as Americans were fed up with british rule (you need an excuse to fight you know).

Oh and why are you having a grudge against me when you said "I didn't suspect you'd care" as it sounds as if you are having a go at me. All I was saying is that British people are renowned for the idea of "life goes on" (READ THE POST!)

I didn't mean it harshly. I thought you might take my last line a bit like that, sorry... ^^;

He was popular to the British, not us. *shrugs*

All reasons for war are excuses. Everything we make for reasons for anything are excuses, it just depends if they're legitimate or not. High taxes that disallow commercial trade is a good excuse

There might've been some care for independence, I thought, because these neighbors on my street hang a British flag on the 4th of July (they're from the UK) which I find kind of rude...

Oh Ok no hard feelings then. What flag is it that is hanging, is it Union flag or St.Georges flag?

Posted Image St. George flag

Posted Image Union Flag

Oh and I now realise what everyone means by 'British day', you mean to say 'St. George's Day' as that is being considdered being made to be a national holiday to represent England (as opposed to Britain which most English don't like as it means Scottland, Ireland and Wales aswell)

don't worry about it, they can't be that extremist because its the Union Flag which represents the UK and not just England (St. George's flag). They must be stupid as f*** if they are extremists and use a Union flag.

Even here in England, everyone refuses to use the Union Flag as it represents England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. Most people use the St. George's flag instead.
