READ THIS POST BEFORE VOTING! Everyone, the voting process is here. This will close at Midday (GMT) on December 31st & the winner will be announced at Midnight (GMT) at the turn of the new year. Post your views here on the songs, as well as which song you voted for (if you want) Just to tell you all, videos of EVERY song nominated will be posted here, so you can listen to them before making your decision for Song Of The Year. You can only vote for ONE song, so make your choice wisely. Next to the video link in brackets are the members who voted for the particular song, DON'T pick songs based on the member that chose it... because Member Bias in something like this is wrong. Sorrow - Sevendust (CreamCrazy) The Shock Of The Lightning - Oasis (Tails Fox) Bag It Up - Oasis (Maz) Always Where I Need To Be - The Kooks (Lisa Fox) Mongoose Walk - SMV (Lucifer Sam) Hammerhead - The Offspring (knnywood364) Buzzer - Dar Williams (~*Anime_Gal*~) Knight Of The Wind - Crush 40 (Roronao) Decode - Paramore (Guns Go Bang) Winners Song - Geraldine McQueen/Peter Kay (Mandy) Dreamin' - Weezer (H.Ashes) G.L.O.W. - Smashing Pumpkins (Molotov) I Don't Care - Apocalyptica (Cherry Blossom) Just To Get High - Nickelback (Hawkfrost) I Don't Do Requests - Dave McPherson (Aqua The Firefox) |

"G.L.O.W." from the Smashing Pumpkins was alright. "Knights of the Wind" has some good bass playing in it, and "I Don't Care" and "Decode" were nice in parts. Surprisingly, Nickelback's tune actually had some good moments in it, too. The Oasis songs didn't do anything for me. So many of these modern rock songs need to drop this straight stiff 4/4 guitar plunk-plunk-plunk-plunk cymbal-crashing chorus thing they've got going. It's vanilla, it's stale, it's boring, it's lazy, it drowns out the sound and ruins potentially good songs. And it almost always has some annoying whining singer belting out his woes - newsflash, we don't care about your problems if you can't sing for beans. [/rant] Your musical tastes are your own, and more power to you for it. That's what makes music a wonderful thing, doesn't it? |

"Good! News! Cigarette Juice!!" - Spagett "There are three things that smell of fish. One of them is fish. The other two are growing on you!" - Frank Zappa "I say life begins at arousal. NO FLUORIDE!" - Dan Halen | |

Not long to vote now guys, Midday (GMT) on December 31st is closing time (which is in about 2 days). Get your votes in quick, although I have to say that a winner looks to already have been chosen... **** you Maz & your "SOTL wins or we riot" claim... it's definitely swung the vote in the songs favour |
