Them's the 8r8ks!

Prolouge

It was difficult to say exactly when the world began to fall, but it was when the war broke out that it was evident just how much danger humanity was in. The world had become paranoid of itself, and everyone was out for themselves. Nations turned on one another, destroying cities and even entire states and countries. Bombs fell, bullets flew, people died, and no one could be trusted.

The planet's natural resources were quickly disappearing. This led to even more fighting, and soon, anarchy arose. Crime of all sorts became more frequent, and eventually, law enforcement was almost nonexistant. Governments of all sort fell to ruin, and soon, the people led themselves. The only ones who could have been considered leaders were the powerful, the rich, the famous. Those who had the guts to hold on to power kept it.

It wasn't until the year 2039 that the war ended. Nations had enough to deal with in their own homes to continue fighting. The world was slowly repaired, but just enough. Lack of food, water, and other resources were limited. Thousands of miles of land had been more or less destroyed. The Earth's population had decreased drastically, and many were poor and starving.

Still, the world was ruled by those who managed to claw their way into power. Not that they did much to keep the people in control, of course. After all, they were much too busy making sure they kept their power... and, for that matter, their lives.

Technology isn't very common anymore, and electricity is only for those privileged few who have the money for it. People walk, take a train, or take a boat to their destination. Guns are basic and difficult to find. Inventions once called advanced are obsolete, and new ones are failing and breaking down.

The world, it seems, is coming to an end. For now, however, people will thrive as they always have. Survival of the fittest.

One man in particular seems keen on surviving. However, he spends his time with those who don't...

This morbid story is his, and he wishes for you to enjoy it.

" Necessity is the first cousin of invention. "

Interesting concept. Reminds me of some video games and movies today. Also y2k. Can't wait for the chapters. ^^

Thank you, Ult. But... Unfortunately, I don't think this story will be continued for a long while, if at all. I'm sorry, but just... some personal things have come up, and I've lost the motivation to do anything at all. I... I give up. I'm sorry.
