GamesCom at Germany is not disappointing yet! Sony today dropped the price of the PS3 system almost exactly 2 years from when they did their last price drop. The drop responds to Nintendo's drop in price of the Wii to $149 a few months ago. The new PS3 pricing will be $249 (Ł199, €249) for the 160GB and $299 for the 320GB. Sony today also announced a basic value version of the PSP will be sold without wifi in Europe for €99. For the PSVita, integration with foursquare, Skype, FaceBook and Twitter (follow us @_TTFF_, shameless plug). Sony also announced some new games which you can find details on at the PS Blog.

Nintendo today announced that Super Paper Mario™, Mario Strikers™ Charged, Punch-Out!!™ and Super Mario Galaxy™ will be added to Nintendo Selects and will be sold for $20 in the USA. Galaxy and Twilight Princess will be discounted to €20 in the EU. The changes take effect Aug 26th. Nintendo is not presenting at GamesCom this year.

Microsoft mostly announced new games for Windows Mobile and a few for kinect. Details on the Major Nelson Blog.
