So apparently the same day the game was released, there was DLC to be downloaded. A lot of people seemed to have a big problem with that, stating that the DLC should've been part of the actual game, instead of having to fork over even more money. Now, it's 100% optional, but apparently this DLC is vital towards the story from what I've heard, which in an RPG style game, is pretty important. I don't personally have a problem with it, but then again, I'm not a huge ME fan in the first place. I thought I'd see what other people's opinions on the matter are.

That is an increasing problem with DLC, and is totally unfair. When I buy a game, I expect it to be the complete game, not half a game. If DLC gets used in the same way as expansion packs are with PC games, thats another matter, but using it to make a game complete is totally wrong.

Alan Wake did something simular, it introduced new concepts right before the end of the game, which were then used in additional DLC.

It is totally wrong in my opinion, and console gamers should not put up with it.

Moreoever, the console companies themselves should do more to regulate the DLCs.

I like electronics- see my avatar ; )

RP character- Green Shadow He is a mysterious elf-fox mix with two green furry tails (his only fox-like trait, next to his agility and stealth). He has a brownish skin tone, and is always wearing a long, green silk cloak that covers his eyes and hair. He always seems to blend into the background. He is great with electronics and has mastered martial arts. Lacks people skills, partially because elves were lost way before Sonic's time. Many think he is a result of a failed science experament (egg man?). He ignores all questions relating to his past green mower green mowers - greenmowers.org My new web comic: artificialroot.weebly.com/ Hope you like Sci Fi! It's unfortunate that there's not much you can do about it. I know games like Rock Band have a HUGE library of DLC, but it makes sense because it's simply adding to an already completed game.

Huh? Sounds like people pay to see Act 1, and at the intermission, the ticket masters request the same fare off them for Act 2!? It's just a rubbish excuse if you ask me!

People can vote with their wallet and not buy the game, or future games from that company, or not buy the DLC. If people did that, prehaps the companies would think twice before pulling off such stunts. For the time being, they will keep on doing things like this time and time again.

There is a huge push within the industry these days to do more and more DLC, and many online games are now moving towards being fully free but with items and certain parts of the game requiring a 1 time fee to purchase or the use of prenium currency. Some games are doing this better than others, some are very limiting on what you can do free or with the initial purchase fee. While I understand the companies need to make money, I think is better to have all the main game stuff be available right away via a 1 time or monthly fee for all game content rather than ala carte.

EDIT: 2000 posts! :)

I believe DLC should be strictly optional. What's the use of selling half a game, if you have buyers who do not have XBox LIVE or online status? How will they get the full experience? I always thought of DLC as being optional, such as maybe more songs in Guitar Hero, or extra weapons in games, or just more music and etc. It shouldn't be plot-important material, otherwise they're just milking us for our cash. To be honest, I think the worst of it is yet to come.
