Wouldn't it be cool to have a television in the third dimension? No, I don't mean one that you need glasses for, or one that involves having two televisions and having crossed eyes. Humans exist in the third dimension. Even though that humans can perceive stuff only in the second dimension, humans have two eyes that give two layered images that give a perception of depth. With that said, humans can see depth, and it would be a great advancement to have televisions that have depth to it. Televisions usually have one layer that project or show a single image in the second dimension. I think it would be revolutionary to have a television with many different layers that lights can be projected into, giving different images for different layers, having somewhat of a 3D television. Plus, depending on where you're sitting, you can see a popping image. 3D textures can now be completely visible and viewed from any direction, and the television can be rotated freely. This, of course, doesn't exist yet, but... WOULDN'T THAT BE AWESOME!? |

A 3D television. Imagine this. It's a little box about the size of a fish tank. On the top side and the four main sides that don't include the bottom, it's a glass wall that you can see inside. On the inside, however, are a projected series of lasers from the sides that, when they collide, they produce a colored pixel with six sides. This can go on to make a full 3D image with these tiny little 3D pixels. Now you can watch full 3D animations IN 3D and such! Plus, with the advancement of technology, details can be picked up and create a real, small 3D world inside the little cube. It's very confusing, but hopefully you guys understand. :P |

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holography And also, concept already exists as a laser-plasma holographic display. It just isn't commercially viable for the consumer market. Edited by Parin, May 18 2015, 08:26 PM.
