Regional Recruitment Plan

Preamble: Seeing that the region's number have yet to do anything but decrease since we founded, I have made a regional recruitment plan outlining what we need to do in terms of attracting more members.

Phase I: Embassies
The purpose of Phase I is simple, we want to plaster our name on as many regional homepages as possible. I figure the more people see us, the more inclined they’ll be join our region.

Phase II: Forums
I’ve been suggesting this for a while now and I think this would really help. If we place as many of our creations(regional storefronts, factbooks, etc) on the NS forums the likelihood of us being discovered will increase drastically. Now I’m not suggesting we abandon our own regional forum, I just think we need to put more on the NS ones.

Phase III: Multiple RP’s
Create two new regional RP’s, one super casual and set up in a social enviroment where you RP as your own character, and one that would play like DnD with a gamemaster and random encounters/events. This would draw other kinds of RPers to our community and increase player activity.

Phase IV:Puppets In The Largest Regions
The purpose of Phase IV is to jump on newbies or people region surfing and give them a home. Bassically volunteers(or people from the regional government who would be forced into it) would place puppets in the largest regions and telegram all newbs and surfers they see in hopes of drawing them to UCON.

Phase V: Mentoring Program
With NS summer coming soon(and the hordes of idiots with it) I figure we better get prepared. The mentoring program would allow some of the more experienced and active RPers to take newbies under their wings and teach them the ropes. This would help us keep newbies longer and prevent our region from being vandalized by the summer trolls.

Phase VI: Help Wanted Ads
Let’s face it, we never ever have enough active people that want to be involved in the regional government. I propose we put out help wanted ads for any positions we need filling and then interview the people that apply. The interview would be posted publicly and then the assembly would get to vote on whether or not this person should be assigned that position.

Phase VII:Random Encounters
Every now and then we all stumble across a lost newb that made a “Need Region” thread and is waiting for a response. Every time you see one of these, post on it. The individual may not join, but hey at least our name is out there.

I will be going into greater detail once each phase is approved, outlining what each one would look like in action.

I feel like you are wanting to spam "JOIN US!!!"

I don't think this will work, simply because of the spam part.

Spam part? It's only spam if it's on the rmb.

I'm against this overall.
Article 1:
I agree with and that is slowly happening as we speak.

Article 2:
We need a regional forum is a standard practice for any region to have a offsite forum and i'd prefer to keep this one. I rather not have to search the NS forums for regional storefronts.

Article 3:
I like the idea and my mob thing would have been DND based. Though maybe have it based in the world of FF tactics or something.

Article 4:
This shouldn't happen unless they are a recruiter friendly region and usually limit it to 1 post per month on their RMB. TG recruitment should be handled by the regional TG recruitment run through NS.(i think we signed up for it) You got us into trouble with this in the past.

Article 5:
Summer actually causes a decline in NS participation i think. Most people tend to log in if thier in school or delaying homework. Though a mentoring system could work. Though usally people are willing to answer questions if someone has them on the RMB.(if the person wants to listen to the advice is a separate issue)

Article 6:
If seen this work out badly and i mean very badly in other regional governments. Most people show up just to get a spot then leave after their term or are forced out. I've been in RP regions with more governmental work then this region has. It's just a general decline in regional government regions and more increase in purely RP regions out there that do not do the whole regional government thing.

Article 7:
I wouldn't mind this if it's not spamming the thread trying to get people into the region. If there is spamming it would have the opposite effect on us as a region.

Multiple RPs is a great idea. We already have a mentoring idea and the gov't usually takes care of it.

I am not in favor with this plan at all. For one thing, much of it goes against NS ToS. Secondly, it puts us in a bad light with other nations. We will not poach other members from developed nations. We will not spam other nations with our banner. The help wanted ad makes us look like a joke. It goes against everything we stand for.

We get members by posting good RP, having a safe, kind and polite RMB and surfing around and finding members through dialogue. It takes time to find good members and this plan will not help us achieve that.

Spam is spam - and no one in this region should do it.

I agree 100%.

There are a lot of rules involved with recruiting, and even aside from this, recruitment from PCRs is very bad etiquette and something that we as another PCR should refrain from doing.

There is a lot more etiquette that goes into recruiting than people realize. I say we just do it the old fashioned way, which is that we assign recruiters feeder regions (or GCRs) and we have them telegram newly-founded nations. Currently, that is the most acceptable, albeit perhaps the least effective way to recruit.
