The First Constitution of the Union of Democratic States
Preamble: We the nations of this declared region The Union of Democratic States in order to form a greater alliance, institute a fair and just legal system, install a direct democracy that can ensure a greater security for member states, authorize the founding of a greater region from it's predecessor, do ordain and establish this constitution for all nations that abide under the flag of this region The Union of Democratic States. |
Article One: Functions and Duties of The Congress The Congress is made up of member states. No admission process is required. The Congress is deemed the power to elect a Prime Minister and Attorney General. Members of the Congress are deemed one vote in an election, vote, poll, etc. Members of the Congress and any other member states are granted the right to free speech and expression and any infringement of these rights shall be dealt with by the Attorney General. Legislation is suggested by any member of the Congress, and must be passed with a majority.
Powers and Duties of the Prime Minister The powers granted to the Prime Minister are reserved to him or her, by the law. Note: The Prime Minister is elected every 6 months (at the beginning of spring, and the beginning of fall). If the Attorney General is not able to serve the Prime Minister will appoint another Attorney General until the next election cycle. The Prime Minister may not hold any other office except for the Prime Ministry. 1.) The responsibility to retain order over the Congress and ensure (coinciding with the Attorney General) that no member state is discriminatory or discriminated against based upon religion, race, gender, or any other orientation. 2.) The reserved power to hold elections and votes, solely on the behalf of the member states' consent. 3.) The reserved power to act as the chief diplomat of The Union of Democratic States in any exchange, treaty, acceptance of surrender, or any diplomatic relation. 4.) The reserved power to declare martial law. Martial law lasts for five days and can be extended to ten days if the Attorney General deems necessary. Martial law is only used during times of a crisis, and if not used in that fashion any Congress member can prosecute the Prime Minister.
Foreign Policy War- Any member of the congress, can ask the Prime Minister for a declaration of war against any other region. The Prime Minister will hold a vote of Congress, and only a majority can allow for a declaration of war. This declaration of war must be approved by the Attorney General.
Diplomacy- The issue of embassies shall be dealt with by the WA Delegate. To produce or close an embassy, the WA Delegate must confirm the Prime Ministers approval for such activities. The Prime Minister is the head ambassador and will conduct diplomacy as needed.
WA Delegate- The WA delegate is appointed as the Secretary to the Prime Minister. If any such thing shall happen to the Prime Minister that makes it so he or she cannot serve, the WA delegate will temporarily hold the spot of the Prime Minister until the next election cycle. Note: The WA Delegate can not hold any other office other than the WA delegation. |
Article Two: Responsibilities and Duties of the Attorney General The responsibilities granted to the Attorney General are reserved to him or her, by the law. Note: The Attorney General shall not hold any other office other than the Attorney Generalship. 1.) The responsibility to ensure that all nations are respected and that no nation shall be discriminated against because of their race, religion, gender, ideological beliefs, and any other limiting factors of the human condition. To use any manner of just action to do so. 2.) The responsibility to uphold a fair and just legal system that abides with the law. 3.) The responsibility to defend and interpret the constitution of the The Union of Democratic States, by acting as chief law consultant. 4.) The responsibility and power to prosecute any action any elected official takes, with obedience to all of the law. |
The Constitution of The Union of Democratic States shall be the supreme law of the land, no other law shall contravene it.
