I fitted a similar speedo to my Locust, mainly after realising my nice old Smiths gauge was reading 30 at 36mph! However, the magnetic pickup soon got clocked off by something.

Great idea, but some thought needs to go into the location of the pickup. Best on the driveshaft I reckon.

Hi,

I have used the Vapor version on mine and I find it very good.

If you want any questions answered about it give me a shout.

Regards

Bob

I used a cycle speedo on my Mini as when I swapped the gearbox engine and dash I got a similar problem to brewnog. The unit is quite small but it is easily readable and accurate and has a number of other functions. I suppose I should work out what speedo I need based on the speedo drive gears etc but as it was cheap at £12 inc pp I haven't bothered.

I like the sound of the bike speedo I didn't realise they went up to a high enough mph to be of use in a car. What make and model did you use?
