Have just found the Koso units on E-bay.........WOW!!!

I am a little disturbed by the £100 difference in price between the full digi unit and the one with an analogue tacho (although the tacho one looks pretty special). Which did you get?

The one I have is the XR/SR you get alot of stuff for your £110, which was not much more expensive than when I bought my Vapor unit.

The XR/SR is the one I was thinking of - it's a neat unit and not too large........Can't justify in my mind an extra £100 for an analogue tacho when you get so much for the £110 XR/SR.

As I said before it is also a compact unit which fits nicely above the steering wheel so you can watch the road whilst still scanning the info.

Hi all,

Well the chassis has finally gone for powder coating with the guy saying it should be ready for Friday, roll on the weekend when I can then start to do some real building work.

Showing what a sad person I am, I have made a full list of what is to be done and in what order it should be done. I will be preparing the build area, oh joy, outside again, let us hope that the weather improves and there is no more snow, please don't go praying for snow and rain Steve.

The only thing I need to buy now is the propshaft, can only measure it when the engine and diff are in but hey ho the people have told me I will have it in 3 days from ordering it.

I will put up some pics when I have had the chassis back.

Plans for the next road trip are well in hand and the ferry tickets have been booked, return fare £33.

Is anyone interested in going to Rumania in September? There is a possible trip to the road featured on Top Gear it is the Transfagarasan Highway a pic of which is attached. If there are enough people interested I will organise it. This would be the second road trip for 2010.

Regards

Hi All,

Well I have not got the chassis back from the powder coaters and have started on the build in earnest, things done so far:

Sealed all panels
Brake and fuel pipes put in
Master cylinders installed
Engine and gearbox fitted
Inlet and exhaust manifolds fitted
Carbs fitted
Rear suspension fitted
Fuel pump installed
Fan and radiator installed
Coolant pipes installed (rough fit)
Alternator moved and fitted
80% of wiring now in place.

Only wish I could have some time off work to carry on, but hey ho, will endeavor to try to start the engine next weekend.

Here are some pics.

Regards

Bob

Spot the problem? front air filter is hitting the chassis even after moding it, back to the drawing board.

Another,

Engine mounts need painting, I forgot all about them. Bottom hose has now been changed to stainless steel.

Rear view, showing diff and rear suspension mounted. The rear of the car is verticle to give me more boot space.
