Hi,

My winter mods are:-

Lower front mudguards as the gap is too big between the guards and the tyres.

Put a bracket on the steering column to add some additional support.

Make a new inlet manifold so that the carbs sit at the correct angle.

Change some of the wiring behind the dash

Make a new tunnel top and reposition the switches, lights and indicators.

And make a trailer for touring.

That little lot should keep me off the streets for a while.

Regards

Bob

Hi All
I am out in the workshop with loads to do !
Convert to foot clutch has been abandoned on the basis of my tunnel
and steering column make access difficult.
Reverse has been posponed until I change to independant rear
suspension,so that leaves me with touching up, some re-wiring
and some interior tidying.
I've been in the workshop for 6 hours today,I had forgotten how
happy I was down there. and what a good singer and dancer I am,
no -one to tell me to shut up or turn it down!

See you all soon
Steve Patenall :D

I'm ashamed to say that I've done bugger all other than weld up a little exhaust hole and done some wheeling and dealing on eBay.

I've driven it though!

Got husband motivated to go and work in a freezing garage - he has replaced the indicators and fitted new headlamps. So have been able to go out and about in her a few times lately. Soon there will be a new exhaust fitted - possibly on the outside instead of underneath - have to explore the options.
Then a thorough clean ready for some warm, sunny weather.

Well at last she is on the road again (when I tax it anyway)
Just spent the last few hours changing the gearbox in my cobra, simple job one out one in.
All went well one hour to remove old one, 45mins to change bellhousing and gear selector and just over an hour to refit, fantastic ! Started engine attempted to reverse out of the garage and no clutch.
After removal of clutch slave and shining lights and using a mirror we could see that the clutch release arm was not moving enough to release the clutch.
After another hour to remove the box, again, we found that the pivot shaft was ½ an inch shorter than the one on the old box, changed that put the box back and hay presto all was fine again
Plus a new steering rack and a few bushes, That all for this winter.
See you all soon
