Hi Im back after many years away, bought another locust, or should i say shell, It has a 1300 crossflow engine but with no hoses, pipes etc, and nothing else.my question is... do i stay with this one, if so where do i source the parts from or do I go for a donor car with a zetec engine and go that direction? Cheers Tony |

Welcome back to the fold. I'm with the XFlow camp, if the Xflow if it isn't needing any work will be relatively cheap and easy to get up and running a Zetec will always make more power but will need a sump, manifold carbs, some form of ignition/management - megajolt? plus other odds and sods. Burton http://www.burtonpower.com will have all you need for the crossflow and zetec. Retro Ford do kits for installing a Zetec http://www.retro-ford.co.uk/shop/catalog/zetec/install-kits It will give you an idea of whats required to get the engine converted to RWD. Cheers Peter |

After seeing your comment saying crossflow all the way, basically agreeing with my father in law who is very knowledgable and my cousin owning a escort harrier for the last 22 years I have decide to take my stubborn head off and stick with the crossflow. Thanks Peter Regards Tony I dare say I'll be on here again soon! |
