Hi Guys quick post about my on and off rear view mirror,, A little while ago i bought at Self Adhesive Chrome Interior Mirror Ref. Code: MICHSA From cbs online.... to maintain the "classic locust look" not to all tastes eh BOB ! Posted Image well it comes as it says with a Self Adhesive pad, great i though easy :-)... well it turns out that every hot day it would wobble about at speed and if we got more than one hot day in a row.... not very common in the UK i know it would wobble then fall off :-( so 3 pads later i thought there must be a better solution well quick search on ebay i found Loctite 319 ( i know you might say that i am the last person on the planet to discover this but thought i would post anyway) Posted Image It does state that it is for bonding metal and glass only however i can report it has done a sterling job on my plastic/glass application. even though i seem to only have a partial surface bond. Posted Image I have later found out the cbs online sells a bonding kit aswell so not relly sure why they sell these with the puny pads? Interior Mirror Adhesive Bonding Kit Ref. Code: MINTAD anyway it works and i did say this would be a quick post :-/ just a little pic of the classic look maintained ( even the xflow on display just for BOB) :-) Posted Image |

Must be a Yorkshire thing had my suction type for 22 years now been thinking about a new one for the last couple of years though! I even bought a chrome scuttle mounted one a few years back but didn't like it's position so I never fitted it. |
