Article 1 Section I Subsection A Respect: Every player and member of the USS Renegade and the forums deserves the same respect that one would pay to the commanding officer or a superior, both in and out of character. This means that racism, sexism, discrimination based on religion, orientation, and the like are all FORBIDDEN. Any member who is found to be breaking these rules purposefully is subject to immediate booting without discussion. This is obviously not a debatable issue. IC: See: Article 2 Section I OOC: "We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equally." --Abraham Lincoln Everyone is an equal, no one is inferior and less deserving of your respect. Threat everyone the way you wish to be treated. Subsection B Posting: All members of the USS Renegade who are actively posting in character are expected to post a minimum of twice per week. Many members will exceed this in one day. Anyone who is not meeting this requirement is subject to discipline including a warning, an email and a warning, and then rank reduction in character. Anyone who is not meeting posting requirements for more that 3 weeks can be removed from the simulation. Exceptions: Anyone who has spoken to the Commanding Officer, Executive Officer of Second Officer about a leave of absence, or has posted notification of such an event on the boards is exempt from these requirements during the specified period. After that period, should an extension be needed, one may be requested from the Commanding Officer, the Executive Officer, or the Second Officer, or posted directly on the forums. If a leave is not requested, and a member is not following the posting guidelines, then they will be considered AWOL, ans subject to the 3-week period of warning, email and warning, and then rank reduction. After such time, should that member not have made contact through the above mentioned channels, he/she is subject to possible removal from the Renegade. Article 2 Section I Character Creation: Almost everyone on the Renegade is here to post as part of the simulation. As such, they must create a character to play as. This character can be a portrayal of your real self, or a complete make believe character. There are a few rules about how and what you can do when creating a character. Realism: Your character must be realistic, and one who cans serve aboard a Starfleet vessel. This means that you can't have Jesus or Moses as your character. The character must also be within the Trek Realm ie: Klingons, Humans, Vulcans, El Aurians, Bajoran's etc. No Wookies or Jedis allowed, that's a different idea altogether. However, "super Races" such as the Q are expressely forbidden on all but the most special of occasions, and anyone who wishes to play as such a character must be chosen by the Commanding officer. All members are limited to one character apiece unless permission for another is obtained directly from the Commanding Officer. In Character: For much of posting, you will post in character. In character is the term given to the posting done as your created character when you applied to the ship. While in character, you are to follow the chain of command and respect your fellow officers, and follow the orders of your superiors. The basic chain of command is as follows, downward from the top of the chain to the bottom: Commanding Officer Executive Officer Second Officer Departmental Heads Departmental Executives Certain positions on a starship are special, however. The Chief Medical Officer has the authority to relieve the Commanding Officer of duty should the need arise. The executive also has such authority if he/she sees the captain as unfit to command. Article 3 Section 1: Discipline: The Commanding Officer has absolute say over Out Of Character punishment of infractions which fall under the scope of these rules and his/her own discretion. As such, any punishment can be discussed with the Commanding Officer for the purpose of leniency. This may not be disputed with the Valiant Fleet Admiralty. In Character discipline is to be distributed according to accepted codes of conduct for Starfleet officers. If it is believed that a commanding officer is completely out of line with In Character discipline, you are able to speak to the fleet admiralty about the matter. *Amendments may be made to these rules at any time. Check back frequently to keep up to date.* |
