I thought I'd start a topic so we can all get to know each other a little better and start some more chat. The gaming market has had limited Trek games for a while now, Legacy being the only major game to come out. And while everyone still waits for the MMOG Star Trek Online, most are content to playing the classic titles. My question is what's the best Trek game? Me personally I find it hard to choose between the original Elite Force, and the Armada series (I have not played EF:II so can't really comment although the demo was good). The reason Armada tips it for me is the huge fleet battles you can develop, and I love having to think of fleet tactics. So, let the battle of the games begin... |

Hmmm. This is a hard one for me. I've never had the most amazing games or RIGs to play them with. I've played an old voyager one. Josh told me what it was a while ago, but I forgot. He's even more Trek obsessed than I am. But I've played a lot of the flash trek games by Vex Xiang, they were pretty amazing. |

best game i have found... is this sorta simming. Lets you get away from rigid plots, really develop characters and inter5act with other ones in ways that no linear game will ever allow. They require a good bit more imagination, and significantly better grasps of language but it really is worth it... |

This is my first attempt at simming like this. So I'm not certain how posts should be made, but I hope mine are okay

Hmmmm, I gotta say my favorite is Armada 2.
Legacy was a huge disappointment and I never got drawn into Bridge Commander. Course the only reason I like A2 so much could be because I'm helping a friend with a mod for it...
And I gotta agree with Mr. Avery, these are possibly the funnest Trek games I could play.

And yup Tolek, you're doing grand. But then that's anther nice thing about this form of gaming. All we're really doing is telling a story together, and most folk can manage that, (admittedly there are some folk out there who do struggle a little, but I'm glad to see that you're clearly not one of them )How posts are done tends to vary from game to game but mostly we're just trying to get it as near to a neat novel as we can... the difference being that we interact to make the novel our own

I never really considered this (simming) before. Never occured how creative they could be, the few I had seen were nothing more than attempts to relive the various incarnations of Star Trek. But the boards nowadays seem very creative, and Renegade's gonna be a great place to be |
